favorite hike so far!!!

Took our 2 year old on this hike and he made it about a quarter to a third of the way on his own before he got tired. Although that may have been because it was getting late. It was about 7 pm when we started the hike. Either way it was a great hike. Very fun and quick even with a two year old.

Went yesterday in beautiful weather. $6 after Alta resort to drive to the top, but worth it. Also worth it to park at the Albion Basin Campground instead of the Catherine's Pass lot. After Cecret Lake, a tiny section of the service road is blocked and under construction, but don't give up, just follow the lift up the hill. It took us 1.5 hours from parking lot to Sugarloaf peak, but with plenty of rest stops. It took us about 1.5 to get down too, but that's because the hill down the peak on the loop is very steep, but still recommended over going back the way you came because it has switch-backs and isn't as rocky as the way up. It also took us longer because at the bottom of the hill we went right instead of staying left closer to the lake, and that put us back a twenty minute detour. All things considered, you could get up there after breakfast and be done for lunch, but I'd recommend snacks. So beautiful!!!

Fun hike! Was fairly easy with a beautiful payoff at the end. So many lakes that can be seen!

Fantastic view of a Canyon
Same view than Antelope and nobody on the pictures !

So beautiful along the whole trail. Amazing flowers and plenty of shade. Easy for small kids.

A hard hike, quick elevation gain with many scrambles! But totally worth the challenge! Very rewarding and we saw goats!!

Great trail with amazing views. For the time and distance, the top is very worth it!

We hiked to the waterfall. Great trail pretty easy u til the last mile then it was moderate with more rocks and incline. The waterfall is beautiful!!! And at the top of the waterfall where the water comes out of the mountains had my kids in awe!!! Trail was mostly shaded. Great almost 5 mile hike to the waterfall and back.

I did this about 3 years ago and there was some snow on the alpine section. This time, of course, no snow, so I was able to see more of what the landscape looks like. I had hoped to escape the smoke, but even the high Uintahs had smoke. A great, short, easy hike with some precarious-looking edges for those of us who are afraid of heights. Too many stupid-looking cairns at the top.

This was my first hike to the summit of a mountain and I agree it is good for a beginner! I would not consider it hard or difficult. Definitely moderate. I only had to pause briefly closer to the top because of the oxygen level I suppose. Some parts were a little steep but much of it was very easy to walk. Hiking sticks are a huge help. Beautiful views at the top!

Very steep uphill and compensated by also being very steep downhill. Not much shade either. The mine is cool but there are better trails to get there and back. We have hiked a lot of better trails in Park City.

Great hike with the most stunning views we’ve seen yet. We took our 4, 8, and 10 yr old kids and they did great. Our little guy walked the whole way - loved climbing the rocks. The heights were a little scary toward the top, but well worth the views. Our gps said it was a little over 2 miles to the top and the round trip took us about 3 hours, but we were taking our time with the kids. Highly recommend.

Pretty diverse hiking. part of it was on an open, rocky trail, but lots of side trails to venture off to. Saw a neat old abandoned mine along the way, a beautiful grove of aspens, and a forest of firs. Used GPS tracker a lot-no trails markers.

Personally much harder and steeper than I expected for a trail that AllTrails rates as “moderate”. That said, the views from the summit were amazing! Hiking sticks are highly recommended, especially for the way down.

Did the hike from cecret lake the morning or 8/5. We went up and down via the service road (to the right of cecret lake), instead of doing the loop, because my map wasn’t loading. The ascent from the top of sugarloaf lift to sugarloaf peak was very steep and pretty difficult, especially going down- lots of loose rock. It sounds like going down the other side towards devil’s castle is probably easier, so I would try that next time.

Not a great hike but its short and has a decent view of the valley.

Great workout on the way up to lake. Shaded mostly with steady incline.

Good hike great views.

It's a fun trail to do at least once to get a great few of the valley. I powered through it so I was able to get through the whole hike in 3.5 hours. The very end felt like the hardest part because of it's continuous incline

Easy to hike, some nice views of the beautiful area, but nothing particularly unique on the landscape beyond the abandoned mine building.

I love, love, love this trail! The flowers are fading, but the beautiful forest setting is reason enough to take this hike. I love making a loop out of this trail by hiking to Dog Lake via Big Water, but coming down via Little Water. The flowers in Little Water were still very much in bloom when I last hiked it on July 29.

One of the best hikes in Uinta mounatins! It could be a bit steep but manageable. To anyone who says it’s a really difficult hike, then maybe you should reconsider since a 3yo and 55yo was able to make it or you’ll miss the amazing views up there.

Great trail! Slightly rocky in some areas. Great for all ages.

Everyone says this is 1.3 to the top but the whole trip was logged in my gps as 5.2 and it definitely took WAY longer than we thought it would to actually summit. We also went slow since we had 2 dogs with us, one of which was smaller, but either we did something wrong or this isn't accurate. Or maybe they only count it as making it to the first piece before the rock scrambling starts. To actually summit, i believe this to be much longer, so just wanted to post this in case it helps others. We never would have brought our little dog if we had known how long it was. But all that being said, the views are beautiful from the top.

Beautiful trail with very little traffic, even on a Saturday!

Perfect hike for kids. I do this one in the evening on week nights and I’m usually one of the only ones up there. All trails isn’t very accurate on the map, just make sure to follow the markers. Bring bug spray

Short but steep hike to the top of bald mtn. The views from the top are incredible as you can see 20+ lakes.

Great trail that will give you a nice workout. The wild flowers are out now and give a nice added touch of color to the mountain trail. Dog Lake is more of a big pond and not as picturesque as other mountain lakes I've hiked to and it's rightly named: lots of playful pups enjoying the hike. Hop the trail on even days if you'd prefer a hike without dodging dogs and their droppings.

D & I hiked this trail, 6 hours round-trip. Enjoyed all the butterflies. Stinging nettle blistered, but the blisters/rash had disappeared by the time we finished the hike.

Only passed two other hikers (who were hiking together) once we passed the main Y trail.

My favorite time of year for this hike is late spring/early summer. Nothing better than running through Bear Flat and the scent of mountain mint wafting up around you.
