Beautiful! You can use the paved road that goes into the park. There are shaded areas, especially as it starts out. However there were a lot of mosquitoes, gathered around along the creek and anywhere there was standing water. Sometimes they were in swarms and relentless. The bikers could easily zoom through, but, as I was on foot, I ran through them! I did not have mosquito repellent on, so next time, I will be sure to use some! Otherwise very pretty area and views of the canyon.

LOVED this trail! Shade, off leash for dogs and a babbling creek the entire way for the kids and furry friends to play in. When we visit Utah again we will surely return!

Good for beginners just getting their legs

Great place for dogs to play in the creek. I'd love for this to be a running trail, but it only goes back for about a mile before it's too sketchy to run anymore.

Yes while the trail-head is closed to construction you can turn west down the street with the street just north of the Credit Union into the Old Mill Business Park. Then turn south at the round-a-bout and go through the packing lot and across Big Cottonwood Creek. Then turn right (west) and drive through the parking garage. Park at the end of the parking lot and you are less that 50 feet from the Trail Sign that is under the I-215 belt route.

great place to take your dog for a walk and let them play in the water, weekends are very busy sometimes you cannot find a place too park.

Quick hike! Nice spot to picnic on the rocks near the end! Kids loved it. Ages 2-9 all walked the whole way!

This was a very short hike, but if you continue straight past where the pavement ends you come to a second waterfall that is amazing. We went with our three kids (10, 7, 4) and they all did great. There is a pretty decent incline but otherwise it is pretty easy.

Really nice place for a walk:) lots of dogs, which we loved. Also loved all the historical areas.

Trailhead is still closed for construction

Loved all the dogs!

City Creek is perfect for a progression workout if you’re a runner. The 3 miles of 600ft gain is manageable enough to run the entire way out. And you’re rewarded with a fun 3 miles back screaming down the canyon! Paved and very nicely shaded

it was way fun lots of dogs which for me is perfect!

it was fun and easy. not far from the city but far enough to get peace.

A very decent trail with a lot of honors to the military. I originally wanted to run this, but there was so much to see that I decided to walk. Very beautiful, the only issue I had was I way off trail a couple of times. At first I thought it was me, but then I realized that it was the map. I had to just leave the trail and walk on the road around the southern band and then I was trailer again after.

Nice little, shaded walk for me and my two young kids. Probably took us 30-40 minutes round trip with a lot of stopping along the way.

Pretty woodland setting. Add or subtract a star depending on whether hordes of off leash dogs and their abandoned waste is a pro or con for you.

trailhead closed for construction.

Simple, clear path with lots of trees. Running beside the creek, it's a pleasant walk with children. Parking is difficult. It's a lovely little getaway for an evening. Dogs were off-leash everywhere, one even jumped on our two-year-old, he didn't like that, but generally friendly. A beautiful easy hike for the family.

This was a fun trail to take as a family. Full of dogs off-leash. It's easily accessible, but parking was difficult.

Easy short walk/hike. Mix of sun exposure and shade. Good for dogs and kids.

I would not call this a hike it is a ten minute walk, it is a very nice and pretty place. perfect weather.

I don’t know that I’d classify this as a hike, more like an uphill walk. But, it is beautiful and leads to Lake Blanche trail. The water in the creek is very high right now and was stunning. Easy hike for little kids.

I’m an out of shape lady and this trail is great. It has a nice incline, length, and diverse landscape for a beginner trying to get out of the house for some light exercise.

There is plenty of parking, a fair number of people, and the trail is wide enough that it’s never weird skirting by other walkers— lots of dogs, families, and people from all walks of life. I enjoy this walk at dusk. You’ll find plenty of shade walking on the east side of the stream on the dirt path (with lots of places to sit and rest along the way), or a paved road on the west of the stream (with no places to sit). It’s feels a little cooler temperature wise from the stream.

This is noted as an up and back walk, however—you can walk up one side, cross either one of the two bridges to the west/east side of the stream then walk back. Enjoy! (Lastly, to my knowledge, there is no open bathrooms/water fountains in this area— I might be wrong, but I’ve never come across any.)

Easy, short, with beautiful views and picture opportunities.
