Decent trail... I could do without riding through the sand. The Turtle wall section is better, and more scenic.

Decent trail.. My favorite part is along the rock base. Quite fun on a bike.
I connected to the Beck Hill to extend the loop. There is quite a bit of sand on that section. (Not so fun on a bike)

Really fun trail once you hit the rocks about .5 miles down.

Great night hike to see the sunset and city lights. Even at night, there were quite a few people at the beginning. Nobody was the overlook at the end,

So many unique rock features and branching paths to follow in the red rock here. It's easy to get "lost" (this park is very urban, don't worry of you're a new visitor to St. George), and that's a lot of the fun. And of course, the views are stunning. There are even a few fire rings scattered about.

There is a lot of broken glass littering the area, take caution with young children and pets.

Really loved this hike! Doesn’t look like much at the trailhead but it gets really beautiful! Great hike for a family and pet friendly.

An easy and great hike. I took my 3 year old and she managed to walk the entire thing without too much trouble. Watch out for coyote poop on the trail.

Great hike. Not a great starting location on this particular map. Google had me park in the middle of a neighborhood & follow a trail in between houses. Once on the actual trail it was beautiful. Will definitely be doing this hike again but starting from another location.

Nice little 4 miler. Walking in loose sand is always a good workout. Perfect amount of elevation & rocks.

Loved it! Will definitely do this one again only clockwise next time.

Nice preserve trail. Noisy highway close by. No dogs or bikes allowed.

Great, short hike. Perfect after dinner hike during the heat of the summer during daylight savings time

Park at the Pioneer Hills trailhead. We crossed the highway & walked trail backwards from what’s marked here. Walked back on paved bike trail. Could’ve started a half hour sooner to beat more heat but was a great hike.

Incredible view of the Colorado River cliffs. IF YOU HAVE A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE , you should experience Toroweep at least once in your life!

My husband and I completed this hike on July 17. We went midday.... was about 100*, by we figured we could do a super-short hike like this.

Overall pretty enjoyable hike and easy to follow. However we did get lost for a few minutes before using the app to guide us back to the trail (hint: at the top of the stairs, make a sharp left!).

The endpoint had some mildly interesting historical information.

If you're looking to do a hike in the St. George summer heat, I'd recommend this one for its quickness and easy accessibility. But be warned that it is hot, and there is zero shade. Although it was just .8 miles, we still took our water with us, and we're glad we did!

The trail is poorly marked, which makes following it accurately a challenge, especially at night. Also, a bit close to civilization for me. I enjoy a trail where sirens and cars driving by cannot be heard. On the plus side, it's quick to get to, and isn't too long. The view isn't half bad either.

It’s nice hike.. I was thinking of riding my
Mountain bike there but couldn’t find a way to get there with my mountain bike. The chuckwalla trail doesn’t allow mountain bikes and I think halfway wash as well.. so idk

Great hike. Not difficult. Good for all ages.
We’ve done this trail 3 times now.

off road driving

I made this trip in my stock RAM 1500. I am not an avid/experienced off-roader, but this was definitely enjoyable.
Start early, it takes a long time to get out and back, but the view is worth it. Any SUV or truck shoudl be able to handle the terrain. Most other cars would be able to make it up to a parking spot that's about 2.3 miles from the rim. You could hike the last portion but it gets HOT in the summer months.
The most important detail to consider about your car is the ground clearance. You must have at least 11 1/2 inches, 13 inches and up will be better. My truck has a step-bar that's at 11 1/2 and I scraped the ground once (no damage, no problem).
It's remote, bring enough water to hold you over for 24 hours and bring some food. I would highly recommend bringing a full-size spare tire, some basic tools, and maybe a shovel just in case yo get stuck (can't see how). I brought a "2 in. x 12 in. x 8 ft. Premium #2 and Better Douglas Fir Lumber" (cut in two pieces) which came in very handy when I had to slide under the truck to change the tire.
I found the stretch from St. George more scenic and entertaining, the other stretch from/to the 389 can be done by any passenger car and is pretty simple, sometimes boring dirt road.
If you are looking for a scenic drive with great views at the end and without any extreme off-road adventure - this is it!

Fun trails, great views of St. George. Cool slot canyons to explore.

Family friendly walk. Went early in the morning as temps. were to reach 102 this afternoon. Very peaceful walk. Saw the arch and the "turtle" rock formation. Nice views from the top. We started on the Chuckwalla Trail, continued on to the Turtle Wall Trail, and returned via the Paradise Rim Trail.
