Good hike. A bit of overgrowth on some of the trail and burrs sticking to our pants. I’d suggest wearing long pants. I’d also have preferred wearing my hiking shoes over my Tevas for this one. Pretty wild flowers still out. Nice view of Deer Creek and Heber Valley at the end.

Pretty nice, lots of shade , I wish I went all the way but I'm pretty sure I heard a rattle snake under some rocks next to me and I don't know much about them so I turned around and went back. Also A LOT of stinging bugs.

Hard to get to because of closed road. Very hot and steep. First and only time I will do this hike haha.

Fairly easy going up until the creek. After that the trail an be pretty hard to find at times and gets fairly uneasy at times. Definitely worth getting to the falls at the very end. Probably my favorite hike so far.

Very pretty area but trail up to Falls is not clear or posted. When we found it, it was steep and covered in rocks / shale. I am always up for a challenge while hiking but this was nothing but unsafe.

kid friendly, beautiful trail. We especially liked people and dog watching plus walking in the cold mountain water.

I’ve run this trail a million times, it’s super easy and can be done by walking in about 10 minutes! Fun, quick hike.

It was a perfect day for a hike. Didn't see any snakes, but we spotted 4 or 5 wild turkeys on the top close to the the peak. On the way down back on the main trail we came across a beautiful bobcat in the river bottom right at bridge #1. It walked along the river bottom at about the same speed as we were walking the trail. It noticed us but wasn't interested in us. Took us just under 3 hours round trip.

This is a VERY hard trail. It’s steep with a lot of loose scree as you ascend. Topping the Cascade Saddle worth it? I thought so! Bring powdered drink mix like Gatorade and make top of the mountain snow cones! I’ve been up in August and waded waist deep in wildflowers on the Rock Canyon side. I’ve been up in the late fall with just spikes and was waist deep in snow but still made it to the saddle! (Snow shoes would’ve been better).

I rode this trail in reverse starting on Springville side, and came out down the Provo Rock Canyon Trail. Lots of shade if doing this trail in the evening. The trail if fairly smooth if coming from the Springville side going up and starts to get rocky as you get around 7 miles up. Great views of mountains and valley below.

Park in the equestrian parking to get closer. Fairly boring, lots of claustrophobic canals with little shade. Maybe the payoff is worth it but I turned around. You do feel really alone. Like, REALLY alone. Snakes kept popping out making me literally scream. Creatures would rush by in the woods. The buzzing of the bees would harmonize and make it sound like people screaming in the distance. Felt like I was hiking to my deserved home in Hell for eternity. 3 out of 5 stars.

Ended up taking a right at the split and hit the camp grounds so added on an extra 3 ish miles making my hike nearly 4 hours round trip. I was determined to reach the summit and wanted to turn back but am glad I didn’t. A tough trail for spending 4 hours in 90+ weather at the peak of the heat of the day. My pre hike snacks and water melon and 1 liter of water were perfect additions to my adventure. This trail for me was one of the toughest I’ve done (I ran most of the time minus some areas that where just too unsafe to run).

Went on August 14 and still quite a bit of snow to get through.. icy at night and slush at day so a challenge either way. Meadow flowers are in full bloom and waterfalls are everywhere.

Great views as always! If you plan to to hike at midnight, I would suggest bring crampons the snow turns to ice! Other than that is great!!

Great moderate hike. 2 trail side water fountains and 5 bridge s crossing the creek.

the trail map is very helpful to find the trailhead; it is otherwise pretty hidden. The first 3rd of the trail is very steep and exposed to sun, not much to look at, but the remainder is very enjoyable. Shoes may get wet. We came across two rattlesnakes on the trail. good payoff for an initially tougher trail.

The trail is very narrow with loose rocks near the end. There was a rattle snake on the trail about 3/4 of the way up. The waterfall was nice. We hiked with our kids (ages 9, 7, and 4) and it was fairly easy for them. The trail was empty (passed one person on the way up and one couple on the way down on a Saturday).

What a gem! Great short workout. So glad I chose this trail! Once past the first mile of road-like trails, it starts to follow the creek up the canyon and it is amazing! The creek drowns out the traffic noise and I had the entire trail to myself! Took me 90 minutes and I spent lots of time scrambling around the falls. Will be back to do more hiking around the creek and falls!
