Great day on the trail exploring the winter wonderland. Snowshoes are required about 2 miles into the trail.

Why does this say “no dogs”. They are allowed.

The trail is in super good shape from sledders packing it down. Even with the gate closed, adding 0.8 miles to walk from there to the trailhead, round trip was 2.8 miles. The gals are looking beautiful!

Great hike early this morning. We got to the trailhead around 8:30. We didn’t need anything but our spikes which do come in handy, especially if you’re planning on hiking up to the falls. The river is pretty iced over in most places but the falls itself is still running pretty good by the donut. It’s beautiful up there, didn’t see large crowds until we were on our way back around 10:30.

Quick easy hike on packed snow. Didn’t use snow shoes or spikes, but if you want to go off trail there’s plenty of opportunity to use them. Lots of cars in the parking lot, but most were families using the sledding area at the bottom. Hiking trail was quiet and we only caught up to people near the falls. Didn’t climb the falls but several people were at the top. It looked very slippery going up/down. Absolutely beautiful scenery the whole way and the falls look amazing all frozen.

Saw a lot of people snowshoeing on the trail, but the trail is packed down and no snowshoes were needed, though the spikes were helpful in a few spots. So pretty in the winter!!

Couldn’t find the trailhead for other trails and stumbled upon this one. Great snowshoeing today with fluffy powder on the trail. Trail hadn’t been used for a day or two but easy to see and the map on the app helped to make sure we went the right direction.

Beautiful hike, with some elk herds. Unfortunately the highway sounds are all you can hear

Went snowshoeing 12/24 AM. Fresh powder snow overnight made the trek a bit more strenuous than expected. Made a couple wrong turns from trail junctions not being well marked, but was able to recover using the map from this app.

Great snowshoeing hike with the daughter.

went Sunday December 22. It was a perfect day for a winter hike. Lots of people on the trail. Nicely packed down and not too icey. I used spikes for part of the way but probably didn't need them

This trail was well packed snow, didn’t need snowshoes for the part we went went on. No place to sit, no shade, not that you needed it in the cold. You could hear traffic the entire time. But we also saw a herd of elk.
