Same experience as the Glenwild Loop (to which it connects). Easy morning/evening nature walk and a fast, non-technical mountain bike paradise with gradual climbs and switchbacks. Great views of Snyderville/Park City. Not a destination hike.

This was our second trail hike in Park City for a long weekend trip. This trail is double track wide with lots of rocks. We still found icy patches and snow up to on May 7th. For us it was challenging but very rewarding with the views at the top. Do yourself a favor and grab a hiking stick at the trail head. There are piles of them there. You’ll be glad you did especially for the trip down!

Gate still not open on May 5th. Water running nicely. Moderate grade up. Nice and green right now. A little wet. Some snow on trail. A couple trees on down across the trail. At about 1.5 m there are a couple trees down and a fair amount of snow.

First hike in Park City and it was beautiful! Took Rob's trail to Ambush then headed left onto Rosebud. Highly recommend this route!

Awesome hike! Local guy from Park City said it’s the best in town. It’s April 23rd and there was still snow on the top half of the trail—we almost turned around because we weren’t prepared for snow, I just had regular shoes on—but thank goodness we didn’t!! The view at the top is so worth it!! Overall the trail isn’t too difficult, the snow made it a bit harder, I imagine when it is all melted it is pretty easy. We are fairly fit and do Orangetheory a couple times a week, but are from Dallas so we definitely aren’t used to going hiking regularly and aren’t used to elevation or snow. I’m so glad we made it to the top it really is an amazing view!

Great hike all around! Definitely need good boots as the trail was completely covered in snow and it is a decent incline. Beautiful wooded landscape throughout and lightly trafficked. Close to Park City but you feel like you’re more remote!

Beautiful hike up and fun sledding down!

We started out just hiking towards the beginning because the snow was a little more packed, but saddled on the showshoes towards the middle of the trail and it was perfect. Weather was great, not too steep. Woodsy and beautiful! Brought my dog and she loved it as well.

This is a great trail and easy to navigate. Finding the trail head was very easy with parking near by. There was snow coverage for the entire trek, however did not require snow shoes, but poles would have been helpful on the return. Moderate is the appropriate designation as it got the heart rate going but did not have many obstacles. There is a fork near the trails end, we went to the right for what was another quarter mile and well worth it as the view was breathtaking. Going this way we did have to double back to return to the iron canyon trail.

Iron Mountain is an excellent day hike. The trail to the summit is well marked and maintained. It has a wide path and I would consider this an easy to moderately difficult climb. The views are not as spectacular as some other local hikes but the trail is enjoyable to hike.

Beautiful snowy hike with everything you could want on a hike: pine forest, aspen groves, wide vistas and benches placed perfectly along the way to stop and rest and take in the view.

Super hike today on lots of fresh snow. Saw two moose on the way up to the top of Rob’s trail. First time using the All Trails app and we loved having the data and using the downloaded map. Yep we went “pro” at breakfast and so glad we did.

It was a slower hike up due to the 8” or so of snow but a very quick descent.

Great day hike - headed up the mtn from large ski resort parking lot and took small trail to the right through an large grassy area. Once at the trail I continued up the mtn. It’s a bit sketchy when you get to where this trail merges into Middle Mtn and then later into Armstrong. Glad I had this app so I could confirm I was on right trail.

A great first hike for my trip to Park City. Lots of cut-off trails, so be careful not to head off in the wrong direction

Great late fall hike. Limited parking at last intersection before dead end. Consistent uphill over hard packed dirt and rocks. Views make the workout worth it.

Gate is closed. Forest service has a sign saying “closed due to icy road conditions”, but this is BS. THERE IS NO ICE ON THE ROAD!!!! Suspect it is closed to reduce hunter traffic in the Canyon. I have been up this road several times when it actually is icy or snowy. Hike up road 1.5 miles to reach trail head.

A little muddy and icy in spots. Gate up to trailhead was closed, short walk up to trailhead. Great views

Great hike up through the mountains. The trail in many spots kicks up in grade and was kind of steep. This time of year the trail has a little snow on it and was a little icy. We took our 8 year old daughter and she did just fine.
