This was a nice trail with very light traffic. This time of year the flowers and plants along the trail are very lush, making it quite overgrown in some places so wearing long pants would be recommended. We only passed two other groups out hiking, on a Saturday afternoon. Parking at the trailhead is not great as its at the back of a neighborhood.

Toll Canyon is absolutely beautiful! Lots of shade and wildflowers. Overgrown trail — pants and long sleeves recommended. Only saw five other people on the whole trail. On the way back, I cut up to Moose Alley/Hoof It to see what it was like. Exposed, hot, and not as pretty. I recommend sticking to Toll Canyon both ways. No parking signs all along Moritz Strasse, so I parked at intersection w Moritz Terrace. Added almost a mile, but it was still pretty.

Didn’t do the entire thing. We took off from Hyatt Park Centric and got to mid-mountain just a over overlook cabin. Views were great and the climb was challenging.

Hard to believe this was a 400 m elevation gain, very gradual and beautiful walk. Lovely for birds and wild flowers.

Didn’t have time to do the full trail so we tried to do a short out and back... couldn’t find any trails at the bottom of orange bubble express so we walked under the lifts and along the ‘upper lookout ridge’ ski slope (very rocky and steep) to the Lookout Cabin. Went back down ‘Doc’s Run’. Watch out for bikes!

HikingGreat!

We appreciate this trail on a hot summer day. It is very shaded, dedicated to hiking and lightly trafficked. We hiked it on a hot 4th of July Saturday and we passed two individuals the entire time. It's pretty gradual climb for about 2 1/4 miles. Then the last quarter to half mile it climbs about 600 feet through aspen groves. Fantastic wildflowers all along the route. Lots of streams for dogs to get water. I've seen some call it overgrown. It seems like it's getting enough traffic to keep it footpath open. When you get to the top it will appear to turn uphill (east) and trek through thick bushes and almost be invisible at that point. If you get there, you've reached the end of Toll Canyon trail and gone onto a trail that traverses in to the next canyon. Oh yeah, the sign at the trailhead shows that you're about to hike Upper Toll Canyon trail which it says is only 1.1 miles. That distance is only to the boundary of the Open Space area. The trail to the top is more like 2.3 to 3.0 miles (we had multiple trackers worn on our trip and this was the range it came up with).

Running

Would love to give 5stars to the toll creek trail, but parking is an issue—the lower trail access is all private roads with tow signs all over, the upper access is a narrow road where the only parking is in front of an empty “for sale” lot. The trail itself was woooonderful! Happy stream, chirping birds, fluttering butterflies, bright wildflowers, shade, sunshine, the works. Best of all, the top of the trail accesses Salamander Pond, Murdock Peak, Wasatch Crest, and more—I got in a nice looong run. :)

I wanted to ride 49 miles of this and did. However, if i had it to do again I would have started at Echo then rode to Prospect park and back. There was a killer head wind on my return and just the slightest bit of grade. Bring more water than you think you will need and lots of snacks. Full sun exposure the whole ride. Multiple gates to go through. You do travel with the highway but i had earphones so noise did not bother me. Great rail trail.

Fun area with a bunch of trails! Alltrails has you park near a gate and then you hike about .5 mile to the trailhead. Great moderate hike with a few steep spots and obstacles, beautiful scenery the whole way. Go all the way and see a couple of picturesque meadows. Will be back for some other trails here!

The trail is along a dirt road, a slow and steady uphill and beautiful. It had snow the entire way up for us yesterday. We kept posting, sometimes the snow came up to our knees or thighs but it was worth it! Stay on the road and you won’t have any problem with accidentally wandering onto the private property.

Trail is covered in snow most of the way, but it’s manageable without micro spikes. Some down trees on the path as well.

The trail is starting to thaw out - I did it without microspikes, without issue. There are sections of mud, snow, and walking through the creek, so be prepared. There are also a few downed trees across the trail that were previously under snow, so they may present a challenge as it keeps melting. But it is really beautiful by the creek! Still one of my favorite hikes.

A little bumpy where horse hooves have caused potholes but an easy long ride. Was very nice.

Great day on the trail exploring the winter wonderland. Snowshoes are required about 2 miles into the trail.
