amazing trail. we did it twice during our 4 days in Bryce. didn't see a single person on either hikes. some sections have loose rocks and soil so be careful. I ended up slipping and falling down the hill on the decent into the camp ground at the end of the hike so be careful. I liked it more than the fairytail loop. Somewhere in the middle you will see a rock balencing on a thin tendril of stone that seems to defy gravity. It amazed me more than anything I saw in Bryce canyon.

Found the canyon full of interesting rock formations and made for a perfect up & back horseback ride.

Truly wonderful hike. Some of the same wonderful rock formations you would see at Bryce, but without the crowds. I also like that it is uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back, which is the opposite of hiking in Bryce Canyon. I did this starting from the clearly marked trailhead at milepost 3 on Hwy 12, just before the Red Canyon Visitor Center. The trailhead has a restroom, but no water. This trail is obviously used for mountain biking and horseback riding, but I was the only one on the trail this morning. Evidence of the past presence of horses is abundant, but not bothersome.

For the first 1.4 miles you are walking gradually uphill on a nice path, with pleasant but not spectacular scenery. After reaching a junction, and continuing on the Thunder Mountain trail, things get really interesting. There is a slightly steep uphill with switchbacks and then you are walking along a ridge, rolling up and down, with beautiful views in all directions. At about 2.4 miles, there is a side trail for Inspiration Point, which goes up to a wonderful viewpoint in about .3 miles. It's absolutely worth the extra effort. I followed the Thunder Mountain trail for 3.1 miles and then turned around. I could see a radio tower on top of a peak in the distance, and that might be where the trail was headed. I'm have no idea of the location of the Thunder Mountain peak, and the folks at the Visitor Center didn't know either, but maybe I can find it on another trip.

Beautiful hike! If hiking we think it is better to do counter clockwise. We were the only hikers, two mountain bikes and 6 people on horse back. Loose rock and some steep climbs make somewhat technical. Would do it again.

The best trail along the entry to Red Canyon. gives you the best feel of the canyon without doing a long trail and you only have a little time.

An intro hike to Red Canyon doable by most but offers some nice hoodoos.

Perhaps the shortest trail here yet for minimal effort it gives you nice rock formations and a taste of the site.

Short and pretty easy ride with a few climbs. Biggest challenge was the chewed up loose dirt from the horses on the trail.

Did solo early in the am before heading to Zion but would recommend adding in the other connecting trails like the Rich Trail to add some mileage. Everything is marked well and would make for a great warmup ride for thunder mountain or other more challenging trails.

Amazing!! A good mix of fairly short/easy climbs and fun downhill sections. Initial descent loose, technical, and rocky.....final descent to highway fast and fun!!!

Would recommend for sure!!

loved this hike. brought my two dogs and so it took us quite awhile but we stopped and took breaks when we found shade. the views were breathtaking and almost dr seuss out of this world like.

Nice hike....low traffic....hot in the sun...cool in the shade...Perfect.

Great way to spend 1 to 2 hours. A hidden gem. Would recommend clockwise route and take time to explore the spur trails.

Pretty easy hike through some shorter hoodoos. Had our kids with us and we enjoyed hiking up through the hoodoos on the way back.

These are very nice, but if you dont have as much time - go over to Bryce Canyon because they are larger and a lot more to see

great first hike when we came into the area last week! met no one else on entire trail ! solitude n beauty

On an overcast day this hike is perfect. Beautiful scenery all around. Only saw a couple people. This trail consists of several loops and taking you different directions. Fun hike and worth doing if your in the area.

I like this trail a lot. But, like an idiot, I wasn't able to research it enough before going and got to see and spend time only at one arch. So, that means we have to come back again! Keep in mind that there will be about 4.5 miles in on dirt roads to the trail. The day we were on the roads, they were pretty good and dry, though a few parts had washed out on road sides, and the road was quite rocky. We had a Volvo station wagon which navigated it well, lower clearance vehicles may have posed a challenge. The drive takes longer than walking on the trail. But this trail would not be for finishing a hike.... Though we only saw one arch, we spent an hour and 15 minutes doing .6 miles in and out. If we had been able to see other arches, we'd spend more time.

most of the trail is under snow right now. we still ventured out a mile or so before the snow got deeper and sketchier. the view was still fantastic though. definitely want to come back when the trail is clear.

The first 9 miles are suitable for road bikes as it's a paved pathway.

Beautiful Drive. We have a upgraded Toyota Tacoma and some of the spots were tight, but overall a beautiful secluded drive.

Tourist trap, go when it’s raining! Although it’s really pretty during the sunset hours.

Nice trail with many beautiful views I will say one thing though that is worth noting. There is a part of the trail that says "Castle Bridge" I ran into several people myself Included that were confused about what "castle bridge" was and where it was located I was expecting it to be a flat top arch or a bridge arch but it's not, it's just a big dip In a wall of rocks, there is no arch or anything like that so hopefully this may help someone in he future.
