This is a difficult trail but only because of the steepness. The trails themselves are in great condition. I gave it four stars because it is not well marked. The very few markers that are there are not legible. I had to keep looking at the map to make sure I was on the right trail and had to back track a few times as you cross many trails. The beginning is boring-it’s just a gravel road for a mile or more. Once you get off that it is very beautiful as you go through the oaks and grassy areas. Watch out and listen for mountain bikers. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Nicely paved clean walking trail. Great for strollers! Kind of busy in the evenings and the occasional asshole biker

Great little walking trail. It's flat -- my 4 y/o had no problems. Completely paved. Lots of bikes on this trail, too. The bike trail is longer and on the west side of the river.

Not a hike but a great walking loop with pavilions and pretty plants and flowers and flushing toilets clean drinking water and picnic areas. We will be coming back again.

Excellent trail for biking!

Love this long stretch of trail for running and biking.

If you are looking for something super simple, flat and paved, this is for you. Unlike us, don't go in the middle of the day on a hot day, as it's not a very shady trail. I think as this is right off the highway, it's kind of a good rest area for travelers as there are some picnic tables in this park, as well.

Biked 05/26/18 from 7:30 AM. Terrific time. I biked almost the entire way from end to end, beginning in Lehi, at a casual pace. It had some great views, particularly once the trail began to press against the mountains. There were lots of fellow travelers but everyone was kind.

This trail has some of the most stunning and amazingly beautiful mountain and lake views ever. Though it's called a canal trail, the canal view seems to be very short and unforgettable as compared to all other views, plus you may start wondering where the canal actually is! We started the trail at the beginning near the Lehi Frontrunner track, and went all the way to the end in Provo. Our stats were quite a bit different than what was was listed here- 19.5 miles, 636 ft elevation difference. There were several hills between the Lehi start and about West 10400 North, I think in Highland. From there it was smooth sailing... so if you want the trail to be relatively flat (minus the bridge underpasses), then start or end around that West 10400 North point. This trail is well groomed, and in some areas is like a divided highway- one side for bikes, the other for walkers. There are several (maybe 4-6) trailheads along the track that have restrooms, tables under a pavilion, water fountains, a bike repair station (at some I saw this, can't remember if i saw them at all), and a big circular decoration (which you can see in pictures I have taken). Also along the trail there are picnic tables with small pavilions along the way with water fountains. It's a really well maintained trail for fun, comfort and spectacular views! You may even be lucky enough to see a few horses, like we did!

It's better on a road bike. Paved, safe, and easy to access.

Great paved trail that meanders through Utah county. We've walked and biked it with our kids in tow.
