HikingGreat!

Spacious and gradual trail. Lots of sand for the first half of the hike out though.

Great hike. Do not buy shuttle tickets off scalpers and encourage that behavior. You’ll likely get scammed and there’s zero way to guarantee they aren’t selling the barcodes to other people. So it could very well not work when you go to scan. Instead, rent a bike or book tickets right at 9am the day before. There’s plenty of availability if you’re refreshing at 8:55-7:01am. Water is cold so get gear from one of the places nearby.

We didn’t see any cougars like a couple people mentioned. The majority of the hike was relatively flat and not too difficult. The views at the end were absolutely amazing!

Nice, peaceful walk with amazing views at the end. We only encountered 7 other hikers. Great trail to get away from the busy main canyon in Zion. We saw a couple of deer, no mountain lions.

Highly recommend hiking the narrows during your exploration in Zion. We rented gear (stick, pants, shoes, socks) from Zion guru, which definitely helped but didn’t keep our feet dry. Still recommend renting gear if you visit during the winter months. DO NOT BUY SHUTTLE TICKETS FROM PEOPLE ON THIS APP. Go to Recreation.gov and purchase tickets the day before or even day of. There are hundreds available for only $1. Please don’t get scammed.

As with other reviewers, I combined Cable Mountain and Deertop Mountain. The trails are relatively flat and not that hard, which was great because I was not fully recovered from hiking The Narrows and The Subway. The trails are also not the most exciting. The good views are at the end of the trail when you reach the cliffs. This may be the least busy day hike trail in all of Zion. I went on a weekend afternoon (aka the busy time) and only saw 1 other lone hiker on the entire trail. The parking lot at the trailhead only holds about 5 cars (not an issue given the traffic). If you do not have AWD or 4WD, you will need to park along the road just shy of the trailhead.

I was really looking forward to this one, but in the end it was not as awesome as I expected, and a lot harder than expected. There's slickrock to see everywhere to see but more than half the actual walking is in deep sand. There is an actual trail most of the way. Use GPS to stay on it. The final descent is really sketchy. There is one move that's completely exposed, so a misstep here equals death. Having walked all this way I continued probably against my better judgement. The canyon was kind of blah when I got down, and impossible to explore in either direction without wading knee deep. Maybe if I'd had more energy and time and was equipped to explore the canyon I'd have got more out of the trip, but it took me 6.5 hours as it is. Even at the end of October, the return was brutally hot.

Started out 7:30 am, glad we went to Zion outfitters and got all the gear for this hike (bib/pants, socks, and shoes). It was 30 degree outside and we saw probably 6 people on the trail on the way there. We stopped about 6.5 miles until the water got chest high (I’m 5’2) in and completed in about 4 hours. The wooden sticks definitely helped keep my balance though through the rocky terrain!

Pay attention to the map, it's easy to head in the wrong direction at a few key points. Once you get to the end there is a climb down to one of the virgin river forks which has some narrow like features (so bring something to walk in the river with). There is also a plaque on a rock to the right as you face the river at the bottom... if plaques are your thing.

Hiked The Narrows 10/14. We did not rent shoes or hiking poles. There were probably about 15 sticks right at the river to borrow. Had no problems hiking in regular running shoes and using a stick we picked up from the river bank. Make sure you check weather for flash flood warnings. Loved this hike. We went just past Wall Street (left at the split) until the water was about waist high, on the way back we did a quick out and back of the other section (right at the split). Very cool experience. Loved it! 4 stars only because it was Very crowded.

Combined the Deertrap Mountain and Cable Mountain trails for a longer hike (14.8 miles). Both vistas are super cool, although I prefer the view from Cable Mountain at that time of the day. The trails for both aren’t difficult since majority of it will be on pretty flat terrain, which some might say a tad boring.
