I came to Kolob Canyons today to hike several of the trails and found that the park is current closed and will be so from 1 May to 1 December 2018. See https://www.stgeorgeutah.com/news/archive/2018/03/15/kolob-canyons-to-close-for-7-months/#.WxG_jWenpI4 It's a beautiful place and I look forward to getting to these trails.

We visited on a Saturday, avoiding the crowds at the main part of Zion. We did this trail after hiking the Middle Taylor Creek Trail. Timber Creek Overlook is a quick hike, so I'd recommend you tack on another hike like Taylor Creek if you're looking to make this a day trip. I think Timber Creek is more of an easy vs. moderate trail. The trail is a bit rocky in some places, but nothing bad. The view at the end is quite awesome. This little trail has a great payoff for the little bit of walking involved.

Nice short hike, it was cold (snowing) and muddy in mid-March but fairly easy considering. Great hike, great views! Wonderful

This is not a trail. It’s a hike up the side of the mountain. You have to push through trees and shrubs. Not for the faint of heart.

Great trail. River crossings were fun to get across. Fun for older kids.

Easy rolling hike that crosses the creek over and over again making it an intetesting hike! Goes by 2 abandoned cabins and about 15 minutes after the 2nd one is a grotto and double arch. When you first see the grotto on your right there is just a few more feet to see the entire thing. Awesome!

Trail starts out with a gradual climb then gets steeper at about the half way point. Hiked until a boulder wedged into a narrow part of the canyon. Loved all the variety of rock formations and colors.

Steady but short up hill climb to a scenic overlook encompassing the entire Kolob Canyon and surrounding valley. The trip down was painful on the knees but I would definitely do this again. Nice picnic areas immediately off the start of the trail.

easy trail with rewarding views and the best overlook of kolob canyon for sunset

Nice little hike at the end of Kolob Canyon. Views at the end are amazing and better than what you see when you get out of your car. Great 360 view of the whole Canyon.

A short hike with impressive views over the Kolob Canyons. It was incredibly quiet and we saw only 2 people on the trail! Definitely worth the short hike.

this hike was amazing.. hike it around 7, because the colors are the most vibrant and then you'll catch the sun setting on the way back, which makes the colors change again. ran into a skunk, so be careful. I had music playing, so that provided plenty warning and still saw wild life. this hike is was awesome and plan on doing it lots more, especially w friends who visit.

note: you have to park in the parking lot to the right, walk across the street to towards the canyon and that's where the unmarked path is.

also, the other pics uploaded by someone else is of a different Taylor Creek fork, think left fork. that one is not very scenic, the south for is the pics I uploaded and is worth every step.

A short hike with bathroom facilities and plenty of places to picnic.

Great views of high mountain buttes

nice easy hike, good views, not too crowded. apologies for the picture, haven't mastered panoramic on my mobile yet.

Easy walk with beautiful views. Kolob Canyon is a must-see!

First off, everyone visiting Zion should visit Kolob Canyon! That said, this hike is short and very EASY, and goes out to a really beautiful vantage point overlooking the valley and the rock formations of kolob canyon. At the end of the trail of you look right you can see mountains in distance

Easy walk out to the overlook. Very few people on the trail. Great views. Worth the short walk.

Fabulous views. Easy walk.

We got to Zion late in the day on our first day with only a bit of light left, so we decided to drive Kolob Canyon and walk a bit. This was an amazing introduction to an amazing place. Breathtaking views around every corner and speckled with quiet contemplative visitors. The hike part was more of a nature walk, but the soul part left me breathless.

This was an easy, not crowded hike on the quiet side...our first stop coming up to Utah...a little appetizer of what was to come. The seclusion was enjoyable!
