Nice walk from the Visitor Center (trailhead) to the beautiful Huber Homestead and orchards. We had an 8, 7, and 3 year old hobbit with us and they did it just fine without too much grumbling.

RATTLESNAKE SIGHTING: Just a warning so you’re on the lookout, on Saturday, May 26, we encountered a rattlesnake about a mile from the entrance on our way back from our hike. It was about 3 1/2’ long. We were able to locate a long branch to tap the ground around him to get him to move off the path and into the grass, but he was not happy and it took some tapping to get him to move. His rattler was still going and on the trail as we ran by. Great hike so rating it a 4, but not sure we’ll be back to it soon after seeing that - we understand we were in his space, but still scary to see.

Overall very pleasant! Terrain is uneven in parts due to horse prints and hardened mud. Otherwise, it is a beautiful hike along the reservoir. Little bit of climbing but generally easy.

Great easy hike especially for little ones. My 4 year old loved it and the views are beautiful. Only downfall is that it runs along a highway so you may experience traffic noise.

Beautiful, easy trail. The kids had a great time exploring the Huber Homestead. There are sweet original Pioneer buildings, apple trees there that are 120 years old, and plaques with Hubert's poetry and family history. Beautiful on a Fall evening.
