Hiked this as a long day hike today. The first couple of miles through the trail were through the woods with occasional meadows to break up the scenery. I took a long break at Jordan Lake admiring the beautiful mountain backdrop. I hiked up the east side of the lake to get to the other Naturalist Basin Lakes on the bench above Jordan Lake. I lost the trail once I got on top but there was no chance of getting lost. Shaler Lake was great even though the spring time waterfalls were nearly dry. I went cross country to the other lakes, Faxon, LeConte, and Blue with lots of ponds inbetween. The waterfall and wildflowers below Blue lake were unreal. The trail down from Blue Lake to Morat Lakes was in rough shape (steep and crumbly). A great hike, but it definitely wore me out.
