Super fun hike! Beautiful views, lava rock formations, red rock summits, and super easy trail.

as has been said it is poorly marked on the trail and on this app as well, if you stop where the trail as marked on the app is you wouldn't reach the canyon walls. gotta keep walking

Amazing but it’s probably closed by now we found two owls nest in

Was a very challenging hike, but once you reach the top the view is breathtaking.

We did most of this route, it offers a diverse landscape of canyons, sands, and caves! Maybe start with Petrified Dunes (go clockwise) so you get the most strenuous climb out of the way and then you can end with the lava tubes which are cool (both literally and qualitatively). Make sure you bring a flashlight for the tubes.

A fun trail all in all!

Varied terrain, Beutiful views, great payoff at the turnaround point!

This is a great hike for beginning to intermediate hikers. Though rated "easy" the stairs and climb at the end up to the cave is a steep slog. So be prepared with plenty of water. The walk through the cottonwoods is beautiful. The lava rock formations along the way make for some great scenery. It's a full 2 miles to the cave and 2 miles back, though the app lists it a little shorter.

Great hike! A couple of challenging areas but worth the view!

Love it and the petroglyphs

WARNING: Watch out for the idiots shooting guns out here. When you call the police to alert them, they sometimes don’t even care they are shooting alongside the trail. They only care if they’re on the trail shooting. I gave it 3 stars because I love the rich history and the mountain bike trail, but I don’t like idiots with guns shooting near hikers. My favorite color is not hunter orange and I feel you need to wear it so you can avoid being shot!

This trail starts in Santa Clara and has beautiful canyon views then connects with the Anasazi Trail if one does the whole loop. Moderate difficulty and a favorite for mountain bikers.

The cave is awesome! Kids loved seeing lizards and birds.

Beautiful trail! Mostly walking through wash and rocks. can get tricky in some areas, but fairly smooth going. went with my daughter and she enjoyed climbing while I was fine reading on a rock and watching... so definitely something for all skill levels.

Great birding yesterday! Saw 11 different birds.

Loved it! Easy and peaceful with beautiful views.

Nice fun hike. There’s some pretty views along the way and the cave is beautiful. It’s good night hike because the view of the city lights is stunning. Good trail run!

Epic.. I’ve yet to find a more peaceful hike!!

Definitely my favorite hike. I got bored at school yesterday so I ditched to go on a I hike. I ended up doing this one with my dog. Even though I do this hike all the time, it is still one of the prettiest views I’ve ever seen at the top. The entire city of Ivins is laid out before you like a patchwork quilt. It most definitely is one I’ll be repeating for years to come.

It’s an easy trail with a beautiful view. It’s amazing to see the arch and the beauty of the looming mountain faces. Worth doing! Wonderful hike when you only have limited tine to hike.

Great , fairly easy trail that gives great scenery and nice Canyon. Take Scout Cave trail in way back to make an afternoon out of it.

Easy flat trail, cool arch!

The arch is cool. Short and sweet. Saw a toad.

This hike shouldn’t be rated at hard. Trail not always clearly marked but you can take the riverbed as well. At the end it can be a bit tricky and steep when you go to the end of the canyon. Absolutely beautiful views and this trail can always be made more challenging by climbing the surrounding rocks.

Great for kids, mine are 6 and 8 and did really well navigating the trail. Loved the cave at the end. It was worth the cold and wind we encountered the day we went.

Nice little trail with varied terrain. Took a 2 year old and he had fun climbing on the rocks and playing in the sand at the end of the canyon. Not a strenuous hike and not high adventure, but great for families with kids looking for a nice little hike.

No idea why this is rated as ‘Hard’. This should be rated ‘Easy’ since you will be hard-pressed to get winded on any part of this hike. Regardless, it’s beautiful once you reach the canyon walls at the end.

A beautiful hike where you can hike with your fur babies and also see petroglyphs ❤️

Easy hike if you follow the run off trail. We took the river bed trail to the right and it was moderate. We hiked in till we hit a wall and couldn’t go any further into the mountains. Beautiful hike.
