Short and easy for all ages. This trail is prior to the South Park entrance. Parking lot is across the street. The trail starts with lava pits from ancient volcanoes. Be careful as it is easy to fall if rocks roll under your feet. If you are into photography plan to take awhile on this one. Be sure to go to the end of the box canyon. This can be combined with Scout Cave but it is easy to miss the marked trail turnoff.

Easy but fairly boring trek to reach the petroglyphs. Once there the hike becomes worth it. Scramble amongst the rocks to find the many petroglyphs. Most of the folks we encountered were seniors, so this is doable. Keep an eye on your kids while scrambling as there are serious drop offs. We will do this one again when we have guests.

Awesome trail for the family.

A very easy, short and beautiful trail. We all (my husband, our 9-year-old son and I) enjoyed it and were even a bit upset that it was so short. Very picturesque trail! Every step is worth taking a picture!

We loved this hike. It’s special because it’s one that you only can do in the winter months of st George. Nov-March is the only time to experience this trail. It leads you around a bend of gorgeous red rock, to a slot canton equipped with an arch and red rocks surrounding your every turn. It was stunning and magical. I felt as if we were the only ones on earth. No wind, no sun, not a single animal or sound. Pretty neat experience when we went. Can’t wait to go back

I clocked it at 1.9 miles beautiful scenery plan on one and a half to two hours it is a steep climb and not for dogs or children great place for a picnic at the top beautiful views

Perhaps it was a mistake to do this hike the day after visiting Zion, but this trail was a let down for me. There are tons of tripping hazards in the form of volcanic rock (more so, it seemed, than other hikes in Snow Canyon). The only view is the wall of Red Cliffs, but that is unchanging throughout your hike. Most people we saw on the trail were actually over on the Johnson Canyon route - maybe there is a reason it is more popular. We enjoyed looking at the nearby neighborhood because at least it was something different than the monotony the trail otherwise offered. We were so disappointed by this trail that we turned around before making it to the cave. The trailhead for this one is before the Snow Canyon State Park entrance; I’m thinking they know it isn’t worth paid entry!

Easy, short walk with good views. The arch is impressive but a little challenging to get a good photo of it in any lighting. Apparently you can take a side path to Scout Cave from this trail, but we didn’t go there.

Excellent hike, petroglyphs are numerous and worth the hike up. Trail is well defined, not crowded on a week day and parking lot with vault toilet. Don't miss it.

Easy hike with very cool petroglyphs. Great view of the valley on one side and the red cliffs on the other.

Very pretty hike once you get closer to the canyon. However, you are walking in a sandy, rocky wash which takes up most of the hike. You should be comfortable with unsteady terrain the entire way. We also took our medium sized dog with us and he only made it part way before we had to turn back due to some of the large boulders.

First time to Snow Canyon and decided to check out this trail. It’s very easy for anyone of any fitness level and just beautiful. You get sweeping views of all the amazing red rock. I’m not sure if the time of year but when you go past the arch the rest of the trail is closed. Would definitely do again

Great short hike, beautiful Arch towards the end. Lots of Lava formations in the middle.

did it in three hours and went into both forks of the canyon. From the parking area you can walk a trail along the rim of wash or go up the wash to the canyon. We have did it both ways.

Easy hike into a box canyon. On a beautiful day, you might see a red tailed hawks or eagles crisscrossing across the top of the canyon. The silence was perfect. It was serene and peaceful. I love this hike.

Great hike with incredible views! Loved it! I disagree with the distance listed here and sadly I didn’t track it on our hike yesterday. This page has it as an Easy 1.6 round trip, but I think it’s more of a Moderate 4-4.5.

Looked at this hike for years as a possible hike. Finally decided to give it a try. Glad I did. The last little bit of the hike was a little to close to a neighborhood for my liking. Had a great view from the mouth of the cave. Even if the cave was small in depth but large in size.

Loved this hike! At the end we received a real cool surprise. Sitting on a rock near the little pond just talking with my wife when a strange sound from above broke the silence. A long rope came flying down from the top of the canyon and landed in the pond. The end of the rope was measured almost exactly as only the last two feet hit the water. A few minutes later a young lady repelled down the canyon wall from above. We took pictures and videos for her and then sent them to her email. Then her male companion threw a heavy bag down. I’m sure glad I didn’t try to catch it, it would have broken my body into pieces. All in all very entertaining and a fun learning experience. Don’t miss this hike!!

The first 90% of the trail was relatively easy and I was able to follow it pretty well. Near the end you have to climb over a few obstacles but it was doable for a fat guy like me. I lost the trail once the cave was in sight but figured out how to get up and there and the view was worth it. Really pretty trail with changing scenery.

Nice hike, not allowed to hike up near enough to the Arch to see sky beyond Arch. Thus not as exciting of an Arch as I hoped.

Actually Id rate this trail as moderate vs easy. Its not very well marked but once we finally found the cave it was really great!

Fun trail...was actually on my way to Scout Cave but missed the marker so we ended up doing both. Pretty great canyon walls & a cool little water hole at the end that my dog Annie was diggin!

Beautiful day and an easy hike with great views of rock walls!

This is more of a moderate hike. Not easy especially with little ones but doable.

It gets hot, limited shade and trail can get difficult to track at times. Pro is this trail is before the entrance of the state park even though they maintain it..no fee.

Zion is one of my favorite places in Utah but sometimes when visiting St George you need to do something different. Snow canyon is maybe a one day, once only thing but there is some fun hikes. We took our girls to this arch right as the sun was coming down and had beautiful red colors going in, and a nice cool shadow to enjoy the last part of the hike. Not a hike to write home about but a nice walk with the kids.

It was Really easy going out to the cave but the trail was harder to follow back. We ended up having to bushwhack in order to get back to the trail.

Easy hike. It's fun looking for the petroglyphs, most are well hidden. The views are beautiful, it's a very peaceful place. Hike early as there isn't any shade.
