Went out there with a friend, and we did see the white reef. But at the same time we didn't recognize it until the way back. We hiked a little further along the path, and found so really nice views. I would recommend this hike. Super easy, and well worth hike. Definitely spare of the moment.

Just what we were looking for today. Nice, easy walk around the cinder cone. Some nice scenery to boot. This would be a great evening walk with pets and kids.

Hadn't hiked for 8 months, so we looked for an easy one to get back in the swing. This is an easy trail which parallels the highway. Scenic in spots as it overlooks the lake. Although this is also a mountain biking trail, we did not see anyone on the trail with us today. Great starter hike.

Definitely my favorite ride while staying out here in Hurricane for the week. I loved this trail! Technical but not as hard as gooseberry. Was able to stay on my bike almost the whole time unlike gooseberry where i had to hop off often. Just technical enough here. Flat with no climbing but flowy and fun. Great intermediate trail. Gorgeous views. Access was maybe 5+ miles off main hwy near hurricane. Trail was well marked w cairns. Just look around and you’ll see them.

Really fun mtn biking trail. Second favorite after guacamole. Definitely harder than guacamole. Had to get off my bike about 50+ times! But fun ride and super cool rock features to ride on

My favorite Mtn biking trail on our weeklong vacation to St George. Wasn’t too technical for my intermediate skills I had to get off my bike a lot riding gooseberry Mesa. This trail I was able to stay on almost the whole time. Awesome rock, flowy trail and well marked w cairns along way. Beautiful views. Just so much fun! It starts out on rock area- just look for the cairn.

We didn’t make it to the main canyon of interest. We’re a young family of all girls who don’t sweat, so even in the relatively mild temperatures of today (70’s), the exposed nature of this trail left all of them feeling plenty warm. Be sure to bring lots of water (like all southern Utah hikes).

Went on a one-nighter trip with close friends! Found a great spot to set up camp and we had fun exploring around all the rocks and looking out at the great view on the cliffs and to our north we could see Zion! Beautiful hike!

Easy to get to and park. Nice relaxing trail. Beautiful.

Only went out 2 miles. Trail well marked first mile then people have made more trails here and there. Found the right trail returning though. Of course you can't get lost because there is only a main canyon.

Great evening hike close to town. Great views on top of the cinder cone. Not difficult, trail pretty obvious.

It was a beautiful walk! Not a cloud in the sky, cool winds to my face and my Boston Terrier by my side.

We go hear 2-3 times a week. Great for dogs and the views when you get on top are great.

Worth checking out.

Lots of options. I made this a loop by connecting with Leeds Reef trail.

This is a good dog-friendly hike outside Zion National Park. It's across the road from the Valley Academy in Hurricane; if you put that into your GPS, you'll get close. There are two cinder cones, East and West. The East one starts right next to some sort of gravel pit, and the West one is off of a little pull-out just a couple tenths of a mile to the west. The views are okay, but not spectacular. You can do one or both cones. We went near dusk, and the sun set very quickly. We did not see anyone else on the trail.

Easy hike with some wildflowers in the spring. If you take a right before the "ledge", it takes you down to the creek and you can cross it. The trail becomes "Tipple" and then links you up to the Red Cliffs East trail. Follow me on instagram @erichslaughter Cheers!

This is a great hike to go on, if you do go try and stay in the center of the trail. I almost got bit by a rattlesnake that was right next to the trail, but other than that it was magnificent.

Loved every minute of this ride

We hiked about a mile out and a mile back. A good trail for beauty, relative seclusion for being close to the road, and a good workout with lots of ups and downs designed for mountain bikes. Wednesday afternoon saw one bike and no other hikers. Wildflowers were just coming in mid-March.

Boring. Not much to see.

As laid out this is an interesting loop trail. It's possible to make it more strenuous by not taking a hard left at the first turn and go straight up the knoll.

Some of this trail (the western most part) is on private property that has been fenced to block the trail. Rather than using this trail I would recommend the West Cinder Knoll Trail that is all public land and encompasses most of what this trail offered.

Fun hike. Pretty simple for kids as well. Lots of rocks and places to explore when you get to the canyon.

One of the most beautiful rides ever. My favorite trail in southern Utah.

Amazing scenery! If you're a mountain biker then you already know that Gooseberry is internationally famous ... but it's underrated as a hiking trail in my opinion! If you're looking for a scenery-filled, mild terrain nature walk smattered with petrified wood, fossils, and blooming cacti showcasing flowers of all colors then do it! It's unique to anything you'll hike in northern Utah. But BE CAREFUL for rattlesnakes!! About a mile down the dirt road from the White trailhead we encountered a Navajo Green Rattlesnake (took the attached picture from inside our SUV thank goodness) which is the most toxic pit viper in North America! And it was mean as hell and was fully poised to attack our GMC Terrain! Incredibly rare experience but possible!
