Beautiful trail!!

harder than it looks.

One of my favorites.

Great trail. Pretty stacked with mountain bikers.

The Trailhead was difficult for me to find. I went on 2 wrong routes the first two attempts, but finally conquered Mt. Ogden on the 3rd! Beautiful Views!

on Wheeler Creek Trail

This hike starts off next the river but looses it about 1.5 miles and it gets hot! We started in the morning but by afternoon there wasn't a lot of shade. I was confused by the trail markers, I was looking for wheeler trail but in the middle of the hike all you see are signs for Maple or icebox. I just kept going south in hopes of going the right way. We didn't make it to the end because we ran out of time, maybe someday in the fall.

This trail is awesome! I can't believe I've lived in Ogden most of my life and never tried it out before. We only hiked about 3 miles of it, but it was beautiful and mostly shaded. Very easy trail at the beginning, but I've heard it can get steeper and harder the further you go (will update when I have more info). This would be great as a beginner mountain bike trail. I plan to come back and try it out for that.

This is a well-maintained, mostly shaded trail with a gorgeous view at the top. The hike took me three hours round-trip, including a half-hour stop to soak in the view at the summit (I am a pretty novice hiker). I started the hike at 6 pm on a Sunday evening and I had the trail to myself, other than two polite mountain bikers and one large moose.

This is a great hike for most people in good health. The trail is well marked and very few rocks. The scenery is very beautiful and the payoff at the end is amazing. We did the hike in about 2 1/2 hours including spending about 20 minutes at the top. It was 100 degrees in the valley and about 72 at the summit which was very refreshing.

Well...it was interesting

My husband and I and Scout dog completed this hike on July 22.

This was a wonderful hike! Most of the way up is a mild-moderate incline, and the trail is partially shaded. The day we went was overcast and a bit cooler, so we didn't even need to stop for water on the way up.

The trail is easy to follow, and has a great endpoint. Would definitely recommend this trail to any hiker!

Great views and nature, not too crowded so that is always a bonus.

Wouldn't recommend during the heat of the day

Great hike! At a quick pace it will take about 2 hours to complete.

Only went 3 miles, nice hike.

This was a fun, quick hike that would be great for families, because there aren't any rocky/bouldered areas to negotiate, and the inline is really gradual. Certain areas were shaded, but others were fairly exposed to the sun and somewhat overgrown -- which worried me a little bit, because there are some prime rattlesnake spots, so do be cautious. It took us about an hour and forty minutes round trip, but we took it at a fairly quick pace, so I'd allot 2-2.5 hours for a more leisurely pace.

Great trail and some awesome views. I would say the hike is right on with moderate and the creek at the end is ice cold so nice to put your feet in before you head back.

This was a moderate hike with good shade. There are mountain bikers but we weren’t bothered by them. We took the dog who enjoyed the little steam and pond at the bottom. Great views at the top.

Good hike for kids. Amazing views at the overlook.

Awesome hike. It's a pretty narrow dirt trail the whole way, surrounded by green (in the summer at least). You're up a slight steady incline, then it flattens out, then down back to the reservoir. Same going back. There's a section in the middle that opens up into a desert wildflower field. Overall, great hike!

I spent the night here and had a good time. The river is beautiful and it would be cool to record with a drone. Lots of kayaks here. The parking is horrible on the weekend. The cops had a checkpoint at the entrance and were searching cars.

Overall, a nice trail that’s not strenuous. The view at the end is a good payoff for your time. I’d suggest this as a good family hike, since little ones will probably be okay. The only drawback is that this trail seems to be very popular with mountain bikers and there can be a lot of traffic at times. There are sometimes a few that go too fast for the safety of hikers on this trail.

The trail is marked at the beginning but not anywhere else. It’s not that big of a deal there only 2 split offs (just stay to the right). It does get narrow at times but not bad and has good clearance above. There are about 10 camp areas and they are all within ear shot of the creak and makes for a great night sleep. We went on a Wednesday for an overnight trip and we were the only ones there. Which was even better. The lake was up to the camping area which makes it nice to bring your kayak in. I took my 7/10 year old girls on their first backpacking/camping trip here. They both had gear and had no problem with the trail. it took us about 2 hours to make it back with stops along the way to take pictures. On the way back it only took 1:20.

Nice hike. I started early and had limited traffic but coming back ran into several groups. The reservoir is kayak central. About 30 kayaks when I left and hundreds when I came back. If you go later in the morning or day parking will be a challenge.

Nice little hike with some wonderful views, well shaded for large parts of it

Beautiful scenery. Only saw a few people on the trail. Get to the trailhead early because the parking lot fills up with those looking to canoe.

We did this trail yesterday and the meadows were full of wildflowers. It was wonderful!

Beautiful views, mostly shaded trail which I loved, great hike, will be doing it again!
