Fun little hike for the kids. Make sure to follow the stacked rocks to get there. Kids loves running around in the vortex!

This trail is beautiful. There are no signs do The Vortex may be hard to find. the trail starts with lsva rock and dirt, as you go down the hill. Once on flat land you reach a dry riverbed and sand. You'll see some boulders and rocks across from you, with a sandy trail leading up, take that until you reach slick rock. Hug the right wall as much as you can. Follow the carens, the Vortex is on the upper right. Good luck!

Awesome views. Don’t go In the heat as there is no shade! We went when it was overcast and it was perfect

I for some reason had a heck of a time navigating this trail. It is not marked. And that’s fine, not everything has to be marked, just make sure you really know where you are going before you head out, because it would be very easy to get lost or cliffed out in this area. The vortex is really cool though. I went in early September and it was over 100 degrees, no shade, so make sure to bring sun protection and water.

Great hike. Very easy with beautiful views. Can be a bit more challenging by climbing the rocks that surround the valley. Can co to us beyond the vortex for fabulous views of the ravine.

Really cool but super hard to find the huge bowl on top, hiking only on sandstone.

Awesome - just lightly snowed and rained which created an amazing setting. Loved it!

Lovely sandstone formations and views. I went in the rain, and it was pretty to see the small rivulets cascading down the sandstone. Near the end of this hike, you take a sharp right and have to climb up over a sandstone “hill” to see the two vortex formations. I almost went past this and found a lovely cliff. So use the cairns (or the app) to guide you.

Fun trail with unique formations and a variety of terrain. We were only able to find the trailhead thanks to this app. The entire trail is unmarked except for carins on the rocky section. We followed footprints in the sand but hiking after a rain would be tricky. Be sure to orient yourself and track your hike on an app. Beautiful scenery and natural trail.

Also known as the "Cowboy Pools" because of the shape of the rock formation. The hike can me more challenging and exciting (and 15 minutes shorter) by climbing up the steep ree rock edge of the vortex rather than going around to the backside.

I have done this hike a number of times. This hike offers a variety of beautiful scenery. From Lava rock formations to sandstone erosion formations. The end of the hike is very rewarding with the view. The hike itself is not to difficult and is a great option for younger children.

Fun hike, a little hard to find the trail head. You have to scramble up some sandstone to get to the Vortex, but the Vortex is really cool. Well worth it.
