love it

beautiful easy level trail!

This trail is a zoo up to Lake Mary, crowded and not super pretty with a view of the dam until you get up to Lake Mary. Lake Mary is a pretty lake. As is typical, once you get past 0.5 miles all of the crowds go away. After that it was beautiful, nice view down to Martha and then beautiful at Catherine. This is an easy hike overall. Fall colors are amazing. Oh and it hailed last night. Walk down and sunset colors were amazing. 5 for the natural beauty, 2 for the crowds to Mary.

Scenery and setting are truly spectacular. Really a photogenic place. But you’ve gotta embrace the poop smeared toilet paper fluttering in the wind, fire rings...everywhere, footpaths through delicate alpine meadows...and dogs barking at sunrise. Pristine? Not so much. Leave no trace? What’s that?

We went counter clockwise. Stunning views at top. Beautiful alpine the rest of the route, with many wild flowers in bloom. Peaceful and serene!

Beautiful, I was not expecting to go this route but when a sign say waterfalls you have to take it. It does get a little intense but if I can do it anyone can. It’s worth the trek it took me just shy of four hours to go up and back down. I did round the lower resinous just to wrap it up but very worth it.

I wouldn’t call this an easy!!! It’s steep the first half mile. Initially brought my 70 year old mom and older sister who were visiting from out of state because it was rated as easy. They wanted a pretty hike. We had to leave, it was way too strenuous for them. So I came back another day. It is busy and lots of families with young kids. It’s a narrow trail in many places and kinda challenging (annoying) when toddlers are blocking the path picking up rocks and parents are just allowing them to block people! The good thing is no dogs are allowed so you don’t have to smell dog urine or worry about stepping in dog feces! Took me about 20-25 minutes to reach the reservoir, with a few stops to catch my breath. The sound of the water in the creek was awesome!

Sooo incredible. Perfect temps, great scenery, pretty easy hike too. Took the whole fam and kids had no trouble making the hike carrying their own packs. Their ages range from 7 to 12. Also had some fun little trails for us to explore in the morning around the lake too.

Love this lake. Such an amazing hike and scenery. Definitely a bit harder for my kids but still doable for them - ages 7 to 12. Less people here than Silver Lake too so that’s worth the extra hour hike too.

Absolutely beautiful. Great hike. Incredible lake and mountain views. Not too hard. 6 year old did it with his own pack. Try to take family backpacking and camping up here at least once a year.

Short hike. Lots of people. Really pretty too. My 6 year old did it no problem carrying his own pack.

So glad that this one has finally been selected for All Trails. This is a peaceful get away spot.

Great trail if you’re looking for an intense exercise going up some really rocky and dirt trails. It consists of going up the initial peak from the trailhead, which leads to a path surrounding a small, dried-up lake. My friend and I went left from there, where we hit a few side-trails that went further into the forest (probably to get closer to the lake), up to where we find a sign that marked where the waterfall trail actually begins.

From that sign, we ascended upwards through some forest that offered some scenic water/stream views, and after much progress, the trail becomes extremely rocky and treacherous. Be sure to take many breaks and bring tons of water. Eventually you’ll make it high enough where the trail veers to the side, where you’ll have to traverse both dirt and rock to make it to the actual waterfall.

Thankfully the trail isn’t too bad going down, but be very careful of your footing because it’s easy to slip when stepping on loose dirt and gravel.

All in all, good trail, but I would only come back for the sidetrails and wildlife instead of going all the way back to the waterfall.

Lovely hike. Extremely mild. Beautiful lakes along the way. Bring some hammocks and chairs, as this is a spot to RELAX. Could have spent days exploring the Lofty Lake area. Beautiful formations and very little traffic. Smoky the past couple days, but where is it not. Highly recommended.

Really pretty lake, especially with the aspens changing colors. Easy loop, great for kids and we will head back tomorrow with our grandson to head up to Solitude Lake from here.

A great hike for a relaxing day trip to the Uintas. Beautiful is par for the course in these mountains, so be ready to enjoy some world-class scenery. The trail is relatively short, but it does descend pretty rapidly in places and is definitely rocky, so if you're new to hiking or bringing kids along be careful on the way down and budget extra time for the hike back up. Expect to see other people and even some paddle boards or watercraft on the lakes.

Pleasant easy stroll. Path is easy enough for strollers and wheelchairs. The boardwalk is fun. So are the Pokestops and gyms ;)

This trail was awesome. I came from SC and had no problem completing it. There isn't that much of a climb but it is pretty long.

I lost a blue Nalgene along the way. It has an Orange "Spy" sticker, a Yeti sticker, a Harborside Pizza, Cordova, AK sticker, and a Blacksburg meadery sticker.
If someone finds it, DM on IG @ mroody12
Thanks!

Great hike, moderate hike with spectacular views the entire way. Really beautiful view of the lake. Next time we will bring 2 cars and hike on Thru to Brighton.

Gorgeous views all along the hike. The path was very clear and easy to follow. Some of the path was smooth and flat, parts of walking on a wooden path and parts of climbing up and down on rocks. Area is clean without trash or debris and was not heavily trafficked with people. Lots of great spots to place a tent if you were backpacking

Great hike, small amount of challenge and long enough that you feel accomplished at the end, but short enough that you can fit it into your day very easily.
Views are gorgeous, and it's high up enough that you feel removed from it all.

Such a fun and amazing views. The Kokanee salmon were beautiful as well!!

Easy 5 miler that is much more crowded in Autumn. Hiking this one on a Sunday afternoon during peak season for the Kokanee Salmon spawn, we were coming across other hikers on the single track trail every 1-2 minutes, and you have to step aside since the trail isn't wide enough for two people. This appears to be a bike-able single track, but please don't bike it in the fall - there just isn't enough time for people to move out of the way, and bikers aren't able to get out of the way themselves.

The trail is relatively easy. There is an incline at the beginning of both sides of the trail, with a higher section through open meadow at the top. If you hike a few times a year, you should be able to do it without any problems or any breaks. There were numerous children and older folks in poor health on the trail, so it should be accessible for anyone that can walk unassisted.

If you're here to see the Kokanee Salmon spawn, that is a yearly event during September. The times change. I've heard that it is typically in the second week of September. Of the three times I've been, I've seen single fish once, small groups of fish once (this time), and then the third time they were so thick that you couldn't help but step on them if you kayaked in. This visit seemed a bit late, as there were quit a few dead fish near where the stream emptied into the lake.

I love this trail, gorgeous in the fall. It's becoming too popular tho it was a bit crowded comparing 2 years ago. My only complaint would be kids trying to grab and disturb the salmon while they are trying to mate, lay there eggs and being tired from their long swim... please do not allow dogs in the water or letting the kids to play with the salmon. It is illegal to catch them. lets protect what's left.

The views are as good as it gets! We hiked on Labor Day, so lots of hikers and dogs. Not terribly strenuous and only took a few hours. The water at the lake above was cold and refreshing to swim in. I’ll definitely hike again with my dog.

Perfect walk for family with little babies or toddlers!

Pretty busy (likely because of the Salmon). The fall colors are starting to appear too! We ended by cliff jumping into the reservoir; terrifying and amazing!!

I found it to to be a good amount of challenge with great views as the pay off. Took a little over 4 hours round trip but I have not done much hiking this year so I’m not in the best shape. We went at about 8:30 and the bugs were not bad at all. It’s really nice that there are places to sit and rest once you get to the falls. Great views of the city as well. My garmen showed about 5,5 miles to lower falls.

Great hike. Beautiful relaxing spot when you get to Lake Mary.

Hiked to all the sister lakes. Great hike and very beautiful.
