on Lagoon Trail

Great family walking trail that we've been using for years. Wide and paved, can be used for strollers and bikes. Added bonus, passes by a section of the Lagoon zoo. Wild berries and fruit trees along the way. A couple of bridges over a stream with no water access. Great place for a photo shoot.

Easy trail, but holy cow the views are incredible. This was the trail I used to break in my new (to me) FJ Cruiser and it performed perfectly. I saw some cars going up the first half of the trail, but when you see the fork to Francis Peak, that's where they are probably turning around.

Lots of cotton! Like coated everywhere, looks like spider webs, and being next to lagoon it sounded like people dying screaming! Kinda hysterical except my 2 yrs Old was scared!

Walking trail not a hike. Well shaded.

Did Triumph up, which was brutal, semi dangerous and gorgeous views, it pushed me and I loved it. Hard difficulty steep pitch, loose shale, nothing to hold on to. Definitely need hiking boots, walking sticks and maybe rescue gear and first aid for Triumph trail. It’s just a swift gain in elevation. Waterfall and creek were awesome at the top of Triumph . Did the Davis creek loop hike coming back down. Loved it. There are rocks and roots to trip on and it is really overgrown in some parts. Did it at night. Would do Davis loop again in the day going up. Wouldn’t take my 5 yr old but my 8 and 14 yr old could handle Davis creek loop.

Missed the real short loop by taking the wrong trail. Discovered the error and just had a longer hike than expected

This was my very first off-roading experience in my new-to-me Outback. The Farmington (north) side had been recently graded and was fairly smooth. The Bountiful side was much bumpier and rutted but still not a problem. The peak is at 9k feet elevation so be prepared to get out of breath. To top it all off, we caught a gorgeous sunset while at the top. Absolutely gorgeous!

Good little trail. fun to see the lagoon animals on the back side. super easy if your looking for a quick escape

Mostly shaded. Nice and easy.

Perfect for my kids who are just starting out hiking.

I like to access this from 2200 West which is just east of the airport by road bike. I hate when the bugs are thick, when wearing sunscreen the bugs stick to your arms. Only a few restrooms.

Great trail for everyone, the elevation gain is not a major factor. However, the trail leading down to the waterfall was too difficult for my 6 yr old to traverse.

nice easy walk with the kids (9 & 4) and dog. flowers were in bloom & we had a lot of fun looking for the birdhouses. shaded.

While this trail has a Sleepy Hollow vibe to it, there isn't really much to see. It is a good place to take a family for a walk as it is paved and relatively quiet.

Got 1/3 of the way up and had to turn around. Still closed for winter... We’ll be back in a month.

it is a beautiful trail, that I think would be great to take a photoshoot in. The trail starts by a power plant, then goes by bison and elk, you can Lagoon off and on. then the trail stops at a road. go left down the road, then the trail continues on your right. after a bit, then the trail comes to a small building for electricity, go right. after a bit again the trail ends, at the end of a drive way. go left this time, and there is a hill. at the top you see the dam. along the trail their are picnic spots, or benches. easy walk.

Narrow, paved, mostly shaded trail along the amusement park. Make sure you check the map because it’s not clearly marked. When you follow the direction, note that it takes you to the trailhead where parking is not allowed. You will have to search for street parking in the neighborhood.

Beautiful hike. A bit harder than expected; is rate this moderate. Slight and slow incline. Old cars were creepy but interesting. My 11 year old handled it like a trooper! Several places you have to cross small streams. Would do it again!

Just completed this hike, well most of it. The path is very covered with greenery, sticks, and brush. Very hard to see at times where you are walking. We saw multiple [rattle]snakes on this trail. Once you get to the fork at the end, the path is hard to determine so we turned around. The path is not shaded and muddy in some parts. Also, you must walk a steep mile uphill to get to the trailhead. GOOD LUCK!

This was my first time doing a “real” bike ride. Thanks Kelly for your review, I had the same issue not knowing where to park by the red farm so I parked by Nordstrom Rack by the train station. The trail has an opening on the north side of the walking bridge.
The path is nice and smooth except for slight inclines and a few wood bridges. There are benches to stop at if you need. I turned around about 4 miles down and there is a port-a-potty there if needed. I saw horses on the west side and enjoyed the Mountain View on the east. This is a trail I’ll be visiting often!

It was a fun little hike. Kids (3 & 6) had a fun time looking at all the birdhouses that lined the trees on the way to the pond.
There was a couple of areas that I had to look at the map to figure out where to go.

Not the trail’s fault but found a rattler about 2 miles in. Went to go try a different fork and reports of rattlers on that trail too. This was on 4/28 late morning. Be vigilant.

The directions for this trail take you to the lagoon trail in Farmington- which you walk on paved trail for about a mile (? I wasn’t wearing a tracker so not sure how far) until you get past Farmington pond and to the actual dirt trail. Next time I will park at the pond park and hike up from there.

The trail was really cool! I went with my brother and two dogs and we had a blast! The trail goes around the backside of lagoon, allowing you to see Rattlesnake Rapids and some of the pavilions. They also have bison, antelope, horses, and cows that you can see while walking on it. It was really enjoyable!
