A great early morning hike. Lots of rocks and sand, but an easy climb and a spectacular view. What a payoff. Sunrise is best.

Very nice hike for those who like exercise. Beautiful trail with a big payoff view at the end.

It was totally unlike any hike I’ve ever done. Sorta felt like I was walking on Mars

Very pretty, well marked trail even for beginners like us it was great!!

We did this trail after a very long day of hiking and it was the perfect way to end. As said, the hike is fairly easy, but the lava tubes are spectacular. At the end of the butterfly trail, the path splits into two if you go left you'll hit a massive lava tube that you can explore easily (with flashlights) to the right is a smaller tube, if you're little you can still crawl in a ways, but cool to look at regardless.

A great end to the day!

This trail is a blast! Well marked, lots of elevation change and pretty views, as well as many opportunities for scrambling and going off the path. Not too long but connects to many other great trails. Look out for the overlook (just off this trail) - provides stunning views and a fun little climb.

Remember to bring lots of water - there's very little coverage and there are strenuous bits.

Excellent view at the end.

The hike itself was okay, but the lava tube was AMAZING! We will definitely be back again—next time with headlamps!
When you get to the T in the trail, the lava tube is 100 meters down the left fork of the Lava Tube Trail.

Great hike!

The views could not be better. The first mile and a half is forgettable but after that was enjoyable, fun, and soul inspiring. First part is mostly rock and dirt, then dirt and sand, then slip rock, and then mostly sand to the overview of Ivins and the lower Snow Canyon. If you plan on doing an out and back be in good shape or make sure you have plenty of time, probably both! In my case, I planned on it but ran out of time and would have been dragging by the time I got back.

Beautiful scenery!

One of the best hikes in southern Utah and a great alternative if you want to skip the crowds at zion! BEAUTIFUL and a fairly easy hike that makes it enjoyable and not too hard!

I’ve done this hike several times in the past year, and I absolutely love it. I always bring my dog with me and he seems to love it more than I do. The trail is rocky, but not too steep. The top is absolutely breathtaking.

The trail is not that exciting but the ending view is breathtaking. Perfect trail to bring dogs and older children. Last year, we took our 5 and 8 year old boys. The well worn trail ends at the cliff but you can walk along the cliff to get different vantage points. It’s one of those unreal vistas that feel like you are standing in a painting. One of my favorites in Southern Utah for sure.

Amazing hike, view is well worth it! Just make sure to wear some good shoes or hiking boots, the trail consists of some real rocky terrain

What a view! Very pretty hike. It is calm and peaceful hiking out to the point. There are small to medium sized rocks the 1st mile and a half. And it is pretty sandy right near the end to the point. Love the view. Would do it again and would love to trial run. Would be super hot in the summer.

Great views from the top!

Great trail to take your dogs, but make sure they are on a leash when on top of the Overlook.

Our group loved this hike! We did think it should be rated moderate though, because the large rocks in the first mile were difficult for a couple older people in our group. The incline is easy, but the actual pathway is often moderate. The view at the top is incredible!

Great trail. Lots of rocks and sand. Great views and very little traffic

Lots of sand. Beautiful view!

Did the hike in November on Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was perfect. Very few people. We were at the overlook area for about an hour and had it all to ourselves.
The boulders are ankle breakers. Kids did fine but my 74 year old mother needed quite a bit of help. Nonetheless it was totally worth it!
There is a fork in the trail that confused some in our group. Just stay left and you’ll be fine.

Super fun trail. Mostly rock and cliff trail - we followed the arrow markers and use them to motivate and power up the hiking energy for the kiddos.

Really fun to walk and scramble on the petrified dunes. The trail traverses the trails and is not always smooth (which makes it fun but can be tricky for those who may be a little unsteady on their feet). The trail is a little tricky to follow in some parts but watch for the upright/skinny signs and the half bowling balls with arrows. Really fun place for photos! The overlook is worth the short extra effort.

It was easy and fun. Mostly had the area to ourselves...very peaceful.

Snow Canyon is a stellar alternative to the crowds you'll find at Zion. Not quite the range that you'll find in the bigger Utah parks, but so very enjoyable nonetheless.

Nice hike. Beautiful views.

Great hike for families! We love Snow Canyon!

Holy cow. 108° with 10% humidity.
That made it pretty tough to run much. But, the trail is very technical. Almost all of it is either boulder strewn or soft sand. The footing really stands in contrast to everything around you. Ultimately, the view is worth every bit of effort. Shocking 360° view at the 'camp' in the loop at the end of the trail.
