Beautiful trail along Coal Creek. Easy walk, well with the time especially late evening or very early morning. Paved all the way. Very relaxing hearing the water run beside you.

Started at summit trailhead - down then up. Good views of Cedar City and some shade relief on a hot day. Plenty of blooming wild flowers last week of May. Very easy to follow, saw a group of 3 and a solo hiker on a weekday. Round trip 8.2 miles in 3:03.

Short and sweet. The views from the top are amazing.

I went early on Memorial Day and only saw one other person. This trail is great! It is very runnable.. if that's what you are looking for. I ran it up and down in 1:24. I'm guessing a hike would take 3-4 hours though at a good pace.

Perfect for kids with a gorgeous view. Drive out there is stunning. You could do multiple hikes around the area. Still a bit of snow late May. Expect it to be chilly because of shaded hike.

Great trail. Very fun. Walking in and out of shade the entire time. Perfect weather, although when I got to the top it was breezy with a nice chill that felt good with my sweat. Took me 2:20 to hike this up and down. Keep an eye out for the bikers.

This is my go-to trail for walking. Very easy and stroller friendly. Love the trees and water next to the trail.

Nice trail like someone said to walk after driving to Cedar City. Too Great view of surrounding mountains from trail Too much road noise in some areas and tanks nearby are unsightly.

I absolutely loved this trail. Being from northern Utah, I just love all of the juniper trees down that way. I was expecting a pretty barren hike, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much vegetation there was. We even saw a few cacti along the way. There were some open areas and some traditional scrub oak, as well. I carried a toddler on my back and it was very doable. I can't wait to go back and do it at my regular pace. We summited in about two and a half hours.

I loved this hike! I started from the bottom and went up, and I thought it was well shaded and really pretty. It was a really windy day here, but it wasn’t too windy till the very top.

Great hike this time of year. I’ve only done bottom to top and it takes me about 3 hours. Early morning is best as it gets too hot during the day, and there are a few deer or squirrels occasionally in the mornings. Sturdy shoes will be a great help because the trail is steep in places. There are 4 benches to rest on as you go, and the views all the way are beautiful.

Paved the whole way...perfect for families!!

Went in late April and it was completely covered in snow. We ventured out for a bit, but the snow went up to my kids' knees so we turned back. We'll try again in a few months!

Short, easy trail. Completed the whole thing, including picture taking, in an hour. Trail hard to find at first, but the AllTrails map will guide you. Some rock climbing at the end near the cave, but the views are worth it! As someone else said, to see the petroglyphs you need to turn around as you exit the cave. The pictures are small carvings in a rock at an adult’s eye level.

Very nice trail! Don’t underestimate the climb if you start at the bottom! It’s also closer to 10 miles total (4.9 to the top) not 7.3!

Trail not marked -I never did find the right one. Frustrating. Still, it is a beautiful area, and it’s difficult not to appreciate the rock formations, and almost budding vegetation. Pretty!

Love this trail! Hard to follow signs sometimes as there is more than one way to hike the trail. 2nd time I have taken it. The flowers & trees are just getting ready to bud/blossom. This will be really pretty in a few weeks when the spring growth is out.

Love this trail! Easy, clean, clear most of the year! Have done it dozens of times. Love it!

it rained not too long ago so the trail is a little muddy. once you do the trail more than once, you have a good idea of where you’re going. I did get a little lost my first time and had to use alltrails map, but had it pretty much down my second time. i can’t find the petroglyphs, but hopefully i find them soon. it’s really pretty and each time i’ve gone i haven’t ran into anyone. it is a relaxing hike. 10/10 recommend it:)

Trail is difficult to find and follow. You'll need to use the Alltrails map. Short and sweet hike. We found the petroglyphs. Walk through the cave and when you come out, turn around and look on the flat rock. They're not very obvious and are easily missed. They look more like symbols and not pictographs. There is a nice look out once at the top. Not sure why my recording has 5.3 miles. It's not 5.3 miles, it's about 1.4 miles.

Agree with another review. It’s a paved walk. Good enough for roller blading on too

Hiked up with my wife on Valentines Day. It was our first. Great start but when we got closer to the “C” we encountered ice and snow. When we got to the top, we started back down. Just before the top it got a little muddy on the trail.
