Just beautiful. If you can't hike do this drive to experience a great variety of what Utah offers.

Great views. Easy hike.

You don’t need 4 wheel drive for this one. Lots of people doing the drive in rental cars. Very scenic throughout. Great campsites along the way. Remote.

Amazing views the entire way but if you get to the end, a real treat. Seeing the river so far below is hard to describe.

We got there just after sunset so the colours were vivid.

Drove it in a stock Cherokee Trailhawk with no problems. A couple of bumps to the underside but no big deal. The last kilometre gets pretty rocky. Vehicles with more clearance and larger tires will laugh at this.

A great little trip.

We drove the entire length, but only recorded from Hanksville to the turn off for Bears Ears. There’s so much to see on this road. Keep in mind after Hanksville there’s really no services until you reach the end of the byway... no gas stations, stores or restaurants. If you drive without stopping it may be ok. But if you want to drive into Bears Ears or Natural Bridges National Monument ... assure you fill your gas tank at either end of the by way and get snacks and water. Keep in mind there’s limited to almost no cell service on most of this route including Bears Ears or Natural Bridges National Monument.

Spent Thanksgiving night camping under the stars. Stunning! Easy drive when dry although there are a few sections of bad washboarding (the road gets a lot of use). The better camping spots are along the eastern half of the road.

I haven't driven this scenic drive all in one loop but have done it portions over the years as I have hiked the area. A fascinating area rich in ancient Indian civilizations and natural beauty. The area is definitely a destination for a vacation.

Incredible experience to walk right up to the edge of the canyon. If you head towards Natural Bridge National Park you can drive up to Muley Point Overlook which makes the view even better.

Beautiful drive through a very scenic area

mountain biking

This is mainly a 4 wheel drive trail. We were the only mountain bikers on the trail. Saw maybe 4-6 jeeps on the whole ride. It is pretty steep near the trail head with some technical rocky parts. The rest of the trail was fun. We ran into a lot of sand when we went which slowed us down. Way worth the view at the overlook however. Make sure to start at elephant hill and turn right at forks on the way out.

Trail of the Ancients is several Indian Ruins in southeast Utah near Blanding. Mule Canyon is right beside Hwy 95; Butler Wash is also off Hwy 95, but about 1/2 mile from the Highway. Edge of the Cedars is located on the edge of Blanding, and Hovenweep is several sites in southeast Utah and southwest Colorado. All are quite interesting.

We did this trail late in the evening, starting off US163- Mexican Hat-Bluff; and came out on SH261 just south of the Moki Dugway. Very Scenic!

A sandy/rocky trail that starts at the visitor center Needles district of Canyonlands NP. The last couple of miles are pretty rough, but you can hike that part. Views of the Colorado River.

A short paved road (Hwy 316) takes you to Goosenecks State Park. Amazing view!

Drove this Byway in 1994, and again in 2005. There are no towns between Blanding and Hanksville. You pass by several Indian Ruins, as well as Natural Bridges NM, and the upper end of Lake Powell. It is very scenic, and there's not a lot of traffic. Some of the grades are fairly steep; if you're pulling a 5th wheel, you will know it.

A minature monument valley! Good graveled roads, and a pleasure to drive.

This was a fun drive and if the road is dry you can drive a rental no problem. The road is dirt and red gravel, bumpy and washboard in spots, but you are in the middle of the desert and can see some pretty nice rock formations. Not as spectacular as Monument Valley, and expect to wash your vehicle after driving it.

My son and I drove this road in 2007 and had a blast!

We were staying in Mexican Hat, UT. Along with my sons Ron and Bob, we Jeeped the 18 mile dirt road. The area looks like a miniture Monument Valley, very scenic. And was it hot!

I've done this Jeep ride a few time with my sons Ron and Bob. Like a miniture Grand Canyon, worth the ride.
