We brought our own waders to go in the river, and we had no issues with the cold water. However, our feet were a bit sore when we were done. Would have been nice to have the water hiking shoes like the ones they rent out. Beautiful views, and when we started as the sun was rising there was no one else on the trail yet.

Rent the gear!!!! It is well worth the money if you want to get past 2 steps in the river. The views are spectacular and so different than other hikes. Be prepared for extremely slippery rocks underneath you that you can’t see. Start early!!!! Beat the crowds. We went in march and took the first 7:00am shuttle.

This time we didn’t go in the water we just did the riverside and there were so many squirrels ❤️

Incredible. Completed in October and only wore wading boots (they were my Orvis fly fishing boots) and was comfortable. Feet got a little chilly, but warmed up on the walk back to the Grotto station. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done, hands down.

This was a blast.

Hiked 02/17/18. Beautiful views. Really simple hike. This was the first hike my boyfriend and I did on our first day (we were both exhausted but still wanted to explore). Got a little chilly when you're forced to walk in some shaded areas so bring a jacket just in case you go during this time :) Can take some fun pretty pictures on the rocks near the virgin river.

A truly unique hiking experience with 95% of the hike in water for feet wet fun. A good pair of water shoes is important for support against twisting an ankle on the river stones. Whether you hike a short distance or further up the slot canyon this is a bucket list trail.

Very interesting hike! I'd suggest renting the gear at this time of year. We were very warm no issues with it. Great views. Not too strenuous

We rented the gear and went up to Floating Rock until the water began to rise higher than our hips. My husband and I hike quite a bit and the Narrows has to be one of my top five hikes. It was such a beautiful, albeit challenging, hike. We are so happy to have done this!

trail running

I really love to run around this reservoir. You can add on a little bit up the knoll to see the whole lake

This is a fun trail. The distance mentioned as 1.3 seems misleading. From the parking lot to the end of the trail for me was only .4 or .5 one way, so both ways may be a mile or less. But, I kept going after the trail end, down the rocky hill over to the second rocky hill and then took a loop back to the parking lot. Finding the trail until the top of the first hill was easy, but then as there are only boulders going down the hill and it seems not many people go down the trail here, it's like the trail disappears. Even without the app or gpx map, it's easy to find your way down without getting lost if you know the general direction of landmarks in the park as there are no trees you can see far in almost all directions. But as there are no trees, keep in mind the sun can get intense if it's out. Also, winter is an ideal time to come to miss the onslaught of bugs! My thought was to walk from rock mound 1 to rock mound 2, then take the trail toward the campground then the second right trail that led back to the main road, but the second right turn trail that shows on the alltrail app did not seem to be there... I did not want to make my own trail, so I went back to the first trail. This trail was not also accurate as compared to the all trails app, but that was ok. I got to see a small herd of antelope on the way back.

I think this was a fun trail for climbing through rocks and boulders. Lots of fun rocks to look at. I spent a lot of time just doing that. Also, as I went on Presidents Day weekend, I could see families love this trail as kids really enjoy climbing up and on the rocks.

Great view...

Took it up into Orderville Canyon until the little waterfall.

Absolutely great hike, not too difficult, beautiful breath taking views.

this is a really really beautiful hike. loved it. no snow in February... so awesome!

Great trail! Easy for kids, light traffic, dog friendly. Gorgeous views!

Beautiful..peaceful, but a lot of diverse traffic. A lot of off leash dogs so be prepared if your pup cant handle that (like mine). Encountered horseback riders and a large group of mtn bikers...

Pristine scenery. Never seen anything like it.

The hike on the paved trail is beautiful and very relaxing. Hiking past the paved trail in the water was just amazing! Didn't bring the insulated shoes, but did have watershoes to put on when getting to that section of the hike. Didn't get as far as I'd have liked, but loved every second of what I did experience. Even the numb, cold and wet feet! :-)

Have rafted Westwater twice. Can be done in one long day or overnight. I've done both.

nice walk very beautiful had a great time

Perfect for a long run/bike ride, beautiful views if you start near the canyon where 189 meets 800 N (there is parking and a trail head here. Paved sidewalk the whole way with bike lanes and run/walk lane. Will definitely return. Not really a hiking trail.

did this trail on Saturday. beautiful scenery! we started from White Rock Bay and went to Bridger Bay then hiked up a trail on the side of the mountain to to the top of buffalo point and then down to the buffalo point parking lot , down the road a little and then south down the mountain to the White Rock Bay campground parking lot. we figured it at about 5 miles. really great hike!

Easy hike, with a beautiful setting.

We actually hiked out and around buffalo point from the White Rock Bay campground parking lot to the Bridger Bay campground and then up the side of the mountain where we came up on buffalo point from the West and then down to the buffalo point parking lot. awesome hike with incredible scenery! The rocks at the top of buffalo point are awesome to climb on too.

Great hike. Be prepared with GOOD water shoes! It’s more like bouldering than hiking...

Beautiful views. Easy enough for my toddler (though she tired out after a half mile so we carried her the rest of the way). So peaceful. We will be back!

It was new experience for me. I really enjoyed the scenery at every step I made

My group rented water shoes, pants and socks that helped keep us warm and made the hike much better. It’s can be a little slippery hiking in the rocks as the whole hike is in water. We reached all the way until we had to swim, so we we t pretty far in. I would recommend this hike. It does get cold so go prepared with proper clothing and shoes

Easy, gentle walk with great views of inside the canyon.
