Not sure who did the overall review but thus is outside the Tyler City Limits and no leashes are required for dogs. There are over 10 miles of mountain bike trails with numerous routes through the woods.

A great running, walking or biking trail with a safe environment. Perfect for morning and day use. Great for evening to dusk use and it is well lit. Tons of benches along the paths and a picnic area with bbq pits. Both park trails connect together with bridges that go underneath streets for continuous use. Friendly pedestrians and a park for kids to play in with restrooms. Also exercise equipment along the pathways from simple pushups to sit-ups to even bench press machines. Rose Rudman trail has plenty of shade avoiding the sun for those hot days of running or walking. For those that love outdoor trails this is one to visit. The smell of cedar and nature adds to the experience of taking a nice stroll on one of my favorite trails. Great picture taking spots along the way. There is a quiet spot on the Rudman side up a steep hill that is great for walking and excellent for a scenic rest. If you are into Geocaching these two trails have excellent finds.

My wife and I have lived in Tyler area for 9 years and love to hike. We feel ashamed that it took this long to do a full hike at Tyler State Park. It is a excellent park with nice trails, plenty of amenities at the store and close to home. we hiked trails D and C in under 2.5hours and did not try to break any records. There is plenty of nice terrane to navigate, winding trails, pines, and wildlife. We saw some deer, and only came across a few hikers the entire time there. It is a hidden gem and we will be back more often.

This park has great options, if you want to walk, jog, or mountain bike.

Hiked Trail C yesterday and really enjoyed it. The park itself lists Trail C as "challenging," though this website only lists it as moderate. Compared to the other trails in the park, this is definitely one of the more challenging ones, but when speaking about hiking trails in general, I agree that "moderate" is a good description. There were several elevation changes, and a couple of challenging uphill climbs involving switchbacks, but it's only about a mile and a half, so it's not too grueling. The views of the pines are lovely, and you even cross over some water a few times. Pay attention to markers so you don't accidentally wander off onto the B or D trail loops, which would extend your hike distance considerably.

Awesome, I go almost every day! Nice friendly people and the city does a great job keeping the trails in good shape.

I never get tired of it! Easy trail and great views.

Good park to hike in. Took my dog Bruno who had a great time. A lot of smells to keep him occupied. It was over 90 and rather humid but we were able to stay on shaded trails the whole time. Enough breeze to stay comfortable while moving but not so much when we decided to break for water. An overall enjoyable experience.

Nice little trail with forested hills and creeks

Great trail...

I've ridden this trail for about 3 years now and I still find it challenging in some places. Nice tight turns...some good sized hills...a couple of creek crossings. It's a well maintained trail that never disappoints.

For a paved trail in the middle of a city it is quite pleasant. The trail follows along a creek through light woods and fields. It is quite accessable and includes a playground and exercise equipment, so something for everyone. Given the location visitors should expect high amounts of traffic.

Beautiful scenery. Beaver dam and natural spring. Path was pretty wet which slowed us down a bit.

Nice trail all the way around the lake

This is my favorite trail so far. Maybe because I live by it, but there’s SO many different trails you can take. Even when the park is crowded, you rarely pass people once you cross that tree line.

This is a combination trail which allows for a relatively easy walk on the graveled loop with lots of dirt trail side-excursions possible. I've photographed the lake across the road numerous times but this was my first jaunt on the trail itself and I will be back. It affords lovely views and a chance to see deep woods which would be hard to hike otherwise.

New additions to loop C has stretched the mountain bike trail out to an available 7 miles. Great addition. A bit sandy right now but after a couple rains it should lots of fun. There is new signage to help direct you on loop C also.

my 10 year old and I did both together. He carried 22 pounds and me just under 50. I would rate this trail as moderate. We both had a great time on the trail, we'll marked and maintained.

Started out great. But, poorly marked trails. Got lost and ended up in a housing Subdivision and another Trailhead called Blue Ridge adding 3 miles to walk back to Faulkner Trailhead. All together we did 7 miles! Be Aware. Locals know this too.

Love it for a flatter run than some of the other local trails. Pretty trails. Always see deer and other wildlife. Never too crowded.

We did loop A which was 2.5 miles or so. Great variety of hills and climbs not too rocky or steep either. Extremely humid at this park so I highly recommend a morning or evening ride specially in the summer time. I have never sweat so much in my life. Take plenty of water and your also supposed to pay a park fee. Beautiful trees!!!!!

Nice hike lots of hills and valleys. Mixed pine & hardwoods.

Very nice trail. Well marked and groomed. A bit confusing at times with many forks in the trail. Great shade and locations to stop and take pics.
