Trails eroded and overgrown. Needed an app to navigate. May be better in the Fall.

I hike here often. The trails are open. The individual trails are not marked so get a map or download one. You'll be in woods, creek beds, an open valley meadow, and the spillway adjacent to Belton Dam. The trails are all pretty easy with one or two short climbs that are a little steep...but not hard. If you go from April to October remember it gets hot in Central Texas so take plenty of water.
Some of the views are very nice and when you are down in the bottom of the valley you'd swear you were hundreds of miles from anywhere when in fact you are very close to Belton, Temple and Killeen. Enjoy!

Great and fun trails to hike. BE ADVISED- these trails are very poorly marked. Make sure you have a phone or a gps with a detailed map on it before you go out.

Trails aren't marked well (but it's been closed for quite some time so that could have something to do with it) .... And I hate to sound like a whiney baby, but the trail entrance clearly states no pets, which is why I left my pups at home (I Googled to see if they were allowed prior to coming) - we did however pass a few people who were out with their dogs :|

Park is still closed. Lots of road noise...also the constant sound of leaf blowers around the south east area. Might want to save this hike for the summer when the leaves will dampen some of the noise. Trails are not marked very well (which may be due to the park being closed for months). Yet there is a ton of fresh trash all over the trails. Come on people! Pack your trash out!

yep, still closed added a photo. 01 OCT 16

9/5/2016 closed until further notice due to flooding and damage. Will try again once it reopens.

really exciting, had a great time.

One of my favorite places. There's a huge waterfall but it's hidden... Be a local and go find it ;)

Lots of natural water, can cool off. My 8 yr old hikes with ease. 6 miles in less than 2 hours. ♡

One of the "paths" isn't really a path, I guess. After an hour of hiking and getting through fallen trees, the path just disappeared. Also, we were really excited to see a waterfall (lots of great hiking and waterfalls in the mountains, where we are from), and we were very disappointed to find it was just taller than my husband and had an unsightly pipe across it. (Picture of my husband and child in front of waterfall in uploaded pictures.)

If you start at the South parking lot there is another set of biking trails with a connection across the dam to the biking trails down in the prairie. You can make a nice 6 mile loop out of it all. Good 150ft elevation change that translates to a couple of good technical climbs mixed with open prairie single track that's hard and fast. All around good, basic trails to call home base.

Great trails, well marked, and good elevation to challenge. Great views throughout. Hiked about four miles altogether. Lots of choices of trails to include a wheelchair friendly path and boardwalk out to a deck overlooking a great view of the entire park.

Visiting this area for work and was very happy to find this wonderful preserve to explore. A little bit of everything: wetlands, ponds, woods, cliffs, caves, and little waterfalls. Herons, hawks, and kingfisher too. A wonderful Saturday morning. Thanks to those who created and maintain it for the enjoyment of all.

Great place to hike in Central Texas. There are several trails that branch off from one another making it a great place to explore.

My go to running trail. I saw multiple reviews stating the trail was closed. This is inaccurate. The south entrance off of Lake Rd (FM 439) is closed. The west entrance off FM 2271 is and has been open. The maintenance only affects the spillway portion of the park. None of the trails are closed because of this. The trail that encircles the park is approximately 3.0 miles. It has a couple steep ascents and descents of not more than approximately 100 feet. It is also a loop trail so you get to explore without retracing your steps. For being a small park their is much to see. It has ravines with little streams, some smaller waterfalls, and a couple ponds. The only negative aspect is you are not supposed to bring your pets.

This was my first trail, and it was so much fun! I didn't like that I couldn't find the trail to the caves and waterfall based on the map that was posted at the beginning.

It's still closed. Someone should update when it opens though.

Trail was closed for maintenance as of 1/17/15.

Favorite place so far, pet friendly and easy for beginners! Many different trails to chose from with a few water spots on some of the trails.

This is a great park for hiking. About five of the ten miles of trail are open to biking, also. A detailed trail map is on the park website, www.MillerSpringsPark.org

Great trails tons of spots to take break at and enjoy the view. Limestone is beautiful in the middle. Climbing the bluffs on the east end and hiking to an open area gives an awesome view of the prairie. All in all, this a great park to hike so many different trails.

Very nice trail. Been here a number of times.

One of the nicer parks in the area-- more diverse landscape than nearby areas. More wildlife and many different routes to hike. Refreshing :)

This was a nice trail, good for a quick daytime hike. It starts with a straight wood path with a beautiful view of limestone ridges/canyon to the left, called the Rim Trail. The view to the right is a busy road, about half a mile away but with no tree cover in between to soften. I took a branch to the right after that called the Armadillo Trail, which is a loop that connects back to the Rim Trail. My GPS measured the whole walk at 1.5 miles. There's not much elevation.
