Excellent walking/hiking with some wide open vistas as well as some tunnel like wooded sections. Path is wide enough to accommodate both hikers and bikers. Main parking area is next to a nice rest room facility.

Great place but super muddy after the rain. Wait a few days before coming and should be closed to all bike traffic. Fields are dry and trail is clean.

This is a nice park. Easy to walk park includes a dog park, a lake and kids play structures. My daughter enjoyed the walk at this park.

5/19/20 the trail was closed. Possibly due to heavy wind and rains a couple days ago. I’ve been here before though and it’s a nice trail. A little bit much for a beginner biker but if you’re determined, it’s fine.

Great mtn bike trail, challenging - gradual climbs, turns, drops, obstacles, and the trail is very well kept.

Great improvements made to the trail.

Love this place!

The only thing is that the trail direction is wrong on AllTrails. You should go the opposite direction if you are walking. Bikers go the same direction as indicated.

I love this trial the scene is so beautiful !

Popular park to ride. I can see why. Had a good time and trail was well maintained. Mix of woods and open area. Has a small dirt track with some jumps. Will definitely be back!

The markings for the trail are few and far between. It’s easy to get mixed up at some parts. Don’t follow the paths exactly as they go of course somewhat. Can get a full 9 miles in if you cover everything. Lots of nice views of open fields as well as shaded forest parts. Go counter clockwise to see cyclists ahead of you.

excellent trail! I forgot to hit record at the start of the hike, but the entire 7.8 miles is in perfect hiking condition. there are several cyclists, but if you hike counter clockwise like recommended in a separate comment below, it will make the hike much more enjoyable as you can see the cyclists coming. thank you for that recommendation!!

Definitely earns its rating as a moderate trail. Lots of steep hills. Highly recommend hikers take the trail counterclockwise, so that you can see the cyclists in time to get out of the way. Pretty busy today. Map is inaccurate as to the far NorthWest portion of the trail. The red trail does not exist. You have to follow the black one. Beautiful scent of honeysuckle in several areas.

Nice paced trail. Ends at a nice neighborhood and you turn around and walk the same path back. Lots of traffic, very clean, will be back. Great play area for kids also.

Wonderful!! The trails are worn in and very well maintained. Great place for biking as well. Lots of ramps and jumps. We were there for hiking and it was absolutely gorgeous with all the wildflowers and honeysuckle in bloom. Go in the late evening or early morning to really smell them! Wow! It is everywhere. I read where the campsites open June 1st , due to Covid 19. Excited for that. We look forward to camping there.

Beautiful trail. Super easy to follow. Well maintained. Clean. Not much shade. Pretty busy today.

This review is for Cottonwood Creek Trail (Stacy Rd & Starcreek Pkwy) in the vicinity of Bonnie Wenk. CCT is new enough that it’s not on the list yet but it’s a good option for paved walking, much is shaded and it splits off to several other trails on the north and south of a mile distance. I’ll get over to Bonnie Wenk soon for that one, too!

Only completed half the trail go our first time out. Really enjoyed it. Clean trail, clear path, lots of traffic . Park is very clean. Restrooms were open. Will deff be back.

Very friendly mountain bikers. Easy to walk and stay on trail. I only got turned around once but was able to use the map to get back on track. Would hike this again. Not that many people on the trail during COVID (no one wearing masks though).

Favorite local trail by far! This is a paid trail but so worth it! $11/per adult. Discount for over 60. No young children went with us so I don’t know the coast for them. There is a little “village” for kids to play in and adults to remember how fun it was to be a kid . We took the longest of the trails and it was a good 3 hours. The scenery is awesome and the trail is well marked. Wear hiking shoes. Lots of muddy little swampy areas that add to the charm of this hike. This is by far our favorite trail around the far north Texas area. (Plano McKinney Farmersville) I recommend this to anyone looking for a good hike. We saw rabbits, hawks, a water moccasin, (they warn you about snakes), tadpoles, turtles, and one of the museum workers had caught a box turtle and stopped to share it with us. We enjoyed this trail very much!

Good well marked trail. Very pretty nature trail through the north loop. Trails are not very wide. No room for strollers. Lots of various terrain. 2.5-3 hours for half of this loop (walking). Saw several mountain bikers and had to move off the trail to let them through. We caught the road back to our car 3/4 of the way through. Mark where you park your car. Cool hidden graveyard- we climbed thru the barbed wire fence and explored it too! Only con to this trail is the roads to get there are unpaved rock roads and it trashed our car. Won’t be back for that reason alone . Worth it for one trip - it was a beautiful trail.
