will be moving to the Lubbock area in less than a month my wife and I and I are looking for local public trails to walk our dogs on. This is disappointing to read other reviews and see that dogs are not welcome.

Saw prairie dogs, an owl, wildflowers and of course wind, sun and bugs. Well bladed. Easy to walk. Little elevation changes. Some interactive signs. Note there is NO shade except manmade overlooks. You need a hat and sunscreen and of course lots of water.

You have to hand it to the trail builder...they took an empty field full of nothing besides broken glass, rock, and prairie dogs and made a good time of it. Honestly though...who wouldn't enjoy a real life version of "whack-a-mole" when you are biking a descent on loose gravel? The trail sucks for hiking and does not have the best flow for mountain biking, but those prairie dogs....

I forgot to mention the wind...

They don’t allow ‘domesticated animals’ which is too bad. Couldn’t they allow dogs on leash and not allow horses, etc? Seems unnecessarily restrictive. Will not go again.

loved it. at sunrise I saw wildlife including dear

Decently fun trail, a real gem in Lubbock.

not a bad hike for being so close to lubbock and no entry fee. would probably be more exciting biking or trail running.

There are many additional branches to choose from not shown on this route, including a half mile leg following an abandoned railroad track that heads NE. Also this is just the East set of trails; there is an equally extensive West set overlooking the lake.

Trails are winding and not well marked, but for the Lubbock area it's a nice surprise! There is an array of difficulty levels - something for everyone! Will definitely be returning!

Went out this morning. Trails are groomed. I suggest going early in the day before it gets too hot! Great workout!

Aweful. Needs mowed. Weeds 6 feet high. No tail markers. Get lost easy. Will never ride here again.

It was hard to find the start of the trail. It was nice being next to the golf course but the trail wasn't very well groomed and you had to park in a sketchy neighborhood!

It was decent. Very bland and bad ride quality of trails. Few hills and a few tricky areas.

Really surprising trail for Lubbock. Has a good mix of easy to fairly technical and many of the trails are marked with difficulty indicators giving you a choice of how mild or wild you want your ride to be. My favorite thing about riding here is that you really almost forget you're in Lubbock for a good portion of the trails. Lots of trees, switchbacks, and elevation changes (some fairly steep). There are enough trails and options that unless you go out every day you probably won't get bored and a lot of varying terrain to hone your various skills. Really my only complaint is that due to our excessive lack of rain this year many spots are getting sandy especially in some of the turns so you have to be careful, but other than that its a great ride every time out!
