This park was nice to walk around in with a cemented path, lots of trees and a river. Barbeque grills and a playground for kids. Not a bad park to spend the day at.

Very pretty. But there's a lot of trash near the water. :(

Been on upper half from 455 to 428 a few times the past two years, most recently after spring 2015 flooding when they finally opened access roads again. Before floods, we had to portage over several logjams. It was smooth sailing after the flooding. Have only been on lower portion from 428 to 380 one time. The trails along creek are still being rebuilt for foot traffic and we've been told we would have no access from creek to parking lot. There is a fishing guide in the area that offers a shuttle when he doesn't have fishing trips planned!

Canoed the top 11.1 miles portion of this trail, from the Lewisville Dam to Sandy Lake Rd. Took about 5hrs - Put in just below dam at 10:40 am, took out at McInnish Park at 3:20 pm. Trip was not bad, if water would have been lower we might have had more issues with obstructions (logs, etc.). No portage required. First few miles, up to Hebron or a little earlier, the water seemed clean and was moving decently. Near the end, last 1.5 - 2 miles, the water was not moving and we had the wind in our face quite often; required a lot of paddling. Also, the last 1.5 miles or so had a lot of small debris floating, some from the local tree nursery right on the river, some of it just trash. There is a portion just south of Bus. 121 in Lewisville where you get a good wiff of the dump for about a half mile. Check the waterdata.usgs.gov link for water levels and discharge (from the dam). Hope to do the rest soon.
