Great directions and trail ratings!

You need to get there early! It gets crowded fast.

awesome little trail, with good view at the end!!

Great views of the rocky river canyon with access to the springs and streams of water down below. Continue down from the overlook to the crystal clear waters and impressive views from within the canyon. The kids loved exploring the shallow water and netting minnows.

This is the hike to do when you go to Pedernales Falls State Park. It’s a really quick hike and then you can explore more up or down the river. I explored down the river and it was beautiful! Loved this area!

Most of the pictures attached to this hike are of the falls at the north end of the park. The twin falls is a trickle of water and not a waterfall. There’s an overlook, and you aren’t supposed to walk down to the twin falls. I didn’t think this hike was worth it even with it being a super short hike. Go to the main falls!

SUCH an enjoyable day!

nice view . easy trail for whole family with small kids.

Kristen and I explored this state park. Fun as long as we were in water. Way too hot and dry. Trails didn't really look interesting. But twin falls is a must see. E walked down from viewing platform to get a closer look. And then followed stream down to big river. And the. Waded upriver to car bear swimming area.

Good little cardio hike. You will have to park further out if you are not camping. Make sure to bring a decent camera to photograph the Falls. You cannot get closer than the overlook.

Drive up to the Falls/Duck Pond area. The pond is pretty dry (and no ducks). The Falls trails is worth the trip. Just be careful and use your GPS and park map. The trail is not marked well at all. No color dots and very few signs.

First hike I did with my infant in a carrier and it was tons of fun. Super easy hike and you can spend forever exploring the river!

It may be a short trail but you can spend several hours hiking over the rocks. Don't be intimidated by the rocks, most of this is the equivalent of stairs. Kids will have a lot of fun with this. Really beautiful.

trail is very easy to falls, hiking along river and over rocks was awesome and great hike.

Steep hike to view the bottom of the Falls. The first part had stones built in to use as steps but the last section was a bit more difficult to navigate through. It may be a challenge for people who have a fear of heights.

Short hike to the scenic outlook of the Falls. It was a good starting point and there are plenty of people around so it does not feel so isolated.

Hike to Twin Falls. Nice overlook constructed to give view of waterfalls. Trails mostly open and easy to follow. Large amount of storm debris alongside of trail. Excellent wildlife viewing potential. Daughter enjoyed the waterfall.

My daughter's favorite hike (due to the waterfalls). Trails well maintained. Overlook has sweeping views of the riverbed and falls. Easy to hike to the falls/rapids. Exercise caution during periods of rain as water levels can rise quickly. Great photo opportunities.

Last month I was visiting San Antonio for a few days and I wanted to go hiking so I had to find something close to the city and this place was perfect. I try to stay away from "easy" hikes since I enjoy a hike a lot more when it's challenging. However, the pictures I found online from this place were so beautiful I had to give it a shot. And am I glad I did... There was a thunder storm going on that day but that did not stop me, I was prepared. The place was lightly trafficked which made my hike that much more enjoyable. There are several trails around the falls, with different difficulty levels. Once you're in the park there is no cellphone service so be aware of that. Beautiful place, so glad I checked it out.

My husband and two daughters (4 and 7) came for a day hike for the first time on Easter. The views are totally worth the $12. We first walked the Falls Trailhead and spent hours exploring the rocks and water. An easy walk could definitely be made more difficult in that area. Lots of lizards, and people were catching a lot of decent sized fish. We then went to Twin Falls and spent over an hour trying to find the fall, which we never did. We were not alone in this. The trail was not clearly marked, so come prepared with coordinates to find it. Overall, a great day hiking. Also very clean restrooms and adequate parking.

Short trek down to the falls at Pedernales. Great fun climbing over rocks and so peaceful to listen to the water. You won't be alone, though. Lots of other visitors. Great to see once, at least.

awesome visit all levels but mostly moderate some of the most beautiful scenery. Lots of Stairs to get to the water level areas. Heavy traffic area always other hikers around. Definitely a must see. Many trails but the falls was my favorite to explore around.
