great trail! well maintained. just watch out for speeding bike riding!

Terry Hershey has a long paved hike & bike trail. The anthills are actually the unpaved portions down lower next to the river I believe. It is a nice but heavily trafficked trail inside of Houston.

Perfect spots to picnic, cool off near fountains when hot, and hills enough to feel like you’ve accomplished something cardio intensive and a little challenging by the time you are finished :)

There were some difficult ups and downs. But, me and my granddaughter are getting good at it. We entered the trail from behind the soccer field. Start of the trail is not where it says it is.

Great trail! The 3 stars are for how terrible the security is. Our car window was broken into at the parking lot to steal a bag (that didn’t have anything in it by the way) because we knew that cars got broken into all the time.

Nice walk, good fresh air

this trail is great for running. there are slight hills and perfect gravel for running. when it starts to rain, everything cools down and the trees partially protect you. i personally like the marvin taylor trails. 5 stars!!!

it is still a little chaotic from harvey, but otherwise its fine. great for small children, elders, PT, and leashed/not leashed dogs. i havent gone kayaking yet, but people who are seem quite pleased. the 5ish-mile run is fun and challenging with the wind and hills. apart from the damge from harvey, this trail is great.
note: if you have small children, keep them away from the silt piles! rats and who knows what lives in those!!!

my dad and i were biking part of this trail. i slowed down to stop, because i wasnt a very advanced mountain biker (one of my wheels got caught on a tree root.) as i was about get back on i saw rustling in the bushes. then, a fairly large coral snake (and i am absolutely sure it wasnt a king snake) slithered out. i told my dad to not go over and poke it because, as some of you guys may know, coral snakes are extremely venemous. this is why i may hesitate to allow younger children or off leash dogs to go on this trail. otherwise, 5 stars!!!

Great trail

It's a good n long trail, my wife n I haven't been cycling for years now but we enjoyed this trail

Very nice park and trail system

Rerating this trail... Not completely easy as there are some sections that have been eroded to make it hard for a "easy" walker to navigate. Sections of this should be upgraded to moderate, but combine this with blue trail and it is a great workout.

I rate it this high because it is one of the few trails in Houston. Very easy and fun to run...all the time.

Attempted to start off of the purple trail, but got to a section that seemed impassible for EASY. Looks like hurricane may have washed part away. You would basically have to climb down into a ditch and climb back out. As someone just starting to hike and being alone, I was not able to make the LEAP into the ditch, nor climb out. I turned around and hiked purple/orange instead.

Flat and paved, good trail for long runs! Lots of bikes, but all were very courteous!

It's tricky to navigate, but once you get it, it's great. Paved path is great. It's hard because it's mostly in the sun. There are restrooms that you can use. They are in the blue lagoon building accessable from the outside in the back. Restrooms were clean.

Wonderful, long, well maintained, mostly blacktop trail system. Interesting stops along the way. all skill levels can appreciate what it has to offer. The "anthills" are just enough to keep it interesting and a bit challenging to maintain revolutions and momentum. Wonderful gem in the middle of H-town.a

One if the better places to go in Houston.

very nice place to ride

Simple trails. More of a stroll than a hike, but we enjoy it for walks on nice days and getting out with the dog.

This trail is across from an active target shooting range.

I was not impressed for the first 15 minutes of my walk; (asphalt trail under the open Sun with no shade.)

But the trail eventually reached a pleasant "nature area" with nice shade.

I will come back again.

Great Trails for essentially being in a city with no elevation. The trail builders did an excellent job taking advantage of every little but of elevation change and there is now a small pump track and dirt jumps at the east end of the trails.
