It's a little convoluted to get to the trail, but once you are there... WOW. As a hiker, this trail gives you great exercise and training for harder trail. As it is used a lot of mountain biking, the hills are steep. Besides making the triangle, add the Hogg Loop (flat terrain) to relax and grab miles before making the triangle again to go back. Awesome work-out. I will definitely go back here. But if it rains, your can not go under Memorial Drive (Twice) in order to get to the trail. Mud will keep you out.

Great trail! The 3 stars are for how terrible the security is. Our car window was broken into at the parking lot to steal a bag (that didn’t have anything in it by the way) because we knew that cars got broken into all the time.

Great track, beautiful nature and divers.

Love this trail for a hike with my fur baby. However, the AllTrails map is a little off. If you follow AllTrails map, you actually pick up some of the orange, red, and blue trails near the end. If you follow the park’s markers for the purple trail, the trail is about 1.5 miles. There are some good hills along this trail so a pretty good workout.

Nice walk, good fresh air

Awesome. I walked it on my lunch break. Very pretty.

This is an urban park! As are most MP trails (all but the Triangle, which is off the beaten path), Yellow is heavily trafficked by cyclists, walkers, runners (many with dogs) and is two-way. A bell and call out is advised on blind corners and more often at the busiest times. There are a couple drops that may take a newcomer off guard so heads up...

in the houston arboretum, there are seperate trails (such as coyote trail) and the trees provide just enough cover where the sun filters through perfectly. this is also a great place to take some nature pictures. it is one of my favorite places in houston!!!

this trail is great for running. there are slight hills and perfect gravel for running. when it starts to rain, everything cools down and the trees partially protect you. i personally like the marvin taylor trails. 5 stars!!!

it is still a little chaotic from harvey, but otherwise its fine. great for small children, elders, PT, and leashed/not leashed dogs. i havent gone kayaking yet, but people who are seem quite pleased. the 5ish-mile run is fun and challenging with the wind and hills. apart from the damge from harvey, this trail is great.
note: if you have small children, keep them away from the silt piles! rats and who knows what lives in those!!!

my cross country team and i were running on this for a recovery run. the hills provide an excellent challenge and the different types of plants and animals keep it beautiful and interesting. it is great for PT and all levels. 5 stars!!!

my dad and i were biking part of this trail. i slowed down to stop, because i wasnt a very advanced mountain biker (one of my wheels got caught on a tree root.) as i was about get back on i saw rustling in the bushes. then, a fairly large coral snake (and i am absolutely sure it wasnt a king snake) slithered out. i told my dad to not go over and poke it because, as some of you guys may know, coral snakes are extremely venemous. this is why i may hesitate to allow younger children or off leash dogs to go on this trail. otherwise, 5 stars!!!

Great trail

It's a good n long trail, my wife n I haven't been cycling for years now but we enjoyed this trail

Spring hike where there is not a lot to see. The flowers are not blooming and there still is a lot of water standing in the ditches. They are in the middle of revitalizing the area so entrance has moved and the outer loop is not complete. Enter off of West Loop feeder road with new parking area. Much more parking now.

Very nice park and trail system

This sanctuary is so peaceful and really pretty. Bring your binoculars for some awesome bird watching.

This is a fantastic trail. It is just a short walk from my house so I use it often. Good workout for me and my fur baby. But what is getting disgusting is people who pick up after their dogs BUT THEN LEAVE THE BAG FULL OF POOP ON THE SIDE OF THE TRAIL OR THROW IT INTO THE TREES. What is wrong with you people?

Really great trail for dogs and kids.

I like this trail as it is not filled with Mountain bikers. A little more challenging than the flat purple trail and has a few steep step ups/downs... but a novice can get through easily.

You can color combo this in any color palette you want... Blue and Red will have mountain bikers, while orange does not, but it is considered moderate in my opinion.

Rerating this trail... Not completely easy as there are some sections that have been eroded to make it hard for a "easy" walker to navigate. Sections of this should be upgraded to moderate, but combine this with blue trail and it is a great workout.

Definitely a moderate trail, there are some super tricky sections if you are a newbie or have trouble climbing or stepping up/down. But it is a decent workout. Mountain bikers use the trails, so keep your ears open. They don't slow down for us walkers.

Great hike; we did a combination of the trails since the Purple Trail was washed out in one area. There were hills enough to make the hike a little more challenging than most around Houston.
We were there on a Saturday, and there was heavy traffic with mountain bikers and unleashed dogs. In a few places there is not a lot of room to move out of the way for them, (and some do not slow down at all) so I would hesitate to bring small children. It might be better during the week, but we haven't tried it yet.

I rate it this high because it is one of the few trails in Houston. Very easy and fun to run...all the time.

Great trail to ride for exercise.

Attempted to start off of the purple trail, but got to a section that seemed impassible for EASY. Looks like hurricane may have washed part away. You would basically have to climb down into a ditch and climb back out. As someone just starting to hike and being alone, I was not able to make the LEAP into the ditch, nor climb out. I turned around and hiked purple/orange instead.

Had to have gotten lost somewhere... I was walking the purple trail and I got to an VERY impassible part. Looked like it was washed out from the hurricane. It stopped where the orange trail makes a loop backward. I could not find any other way to get around the purple trail. I decided to take the orange trail back around. So my hike was a combo of purple and orange. Orange is much more moderate trail than the simple purple, but was still fairly easy.
With going half way around the purple and taking orange back, it made the official journey 2.7 miles per my GPS on the alltrails recording.

This trail head was nonexistent.

This is a very fun trail. With ups and downs at 3 to 5 feet, it was just our speed. It was not to wet. We loved it. Perfect trail, we will be back.
