A great little set of trails packed into a beautiful little park. Some of the best east Texas has to offer.

great walk on the Neches Bluff Trail!! it had terrain, wild flowers, deer and a variety of birds. We had complete solitude! Suggest wearing long pants to protect legs from brambles.

Very picturesque and quiet trail. The smell of pine trees is worth the visit alone. There are more trails here than on this app and the State Park App. They have added more.

I love visiting this small, peaceful state park located along the northern end of the Davy Crockett National Forest. I've enjoyed hiking here in the spring and summer. The trails are well marked and easy to follow. On my hike today it was still lovely despite a recent controlled burn. The dogwoods were blooming and there were lots of birds, butterflies and dragonflies. There are interesting historical features as well making it a great place to hike. I also appreciate that the bathrooms are always very clean.

Such a wonderful little hidden gem. Drive three hours to visit here. As there isn't much where we are from.
Very clean facilities and the geo caching was a great surprise.
Very professional and courteous park ranger. A great park!

A great mix of varying elevations, flat & wide trails, history, and beautiful scenery. Throw in some really clean restrooms, running water, and friendly, knowledgeable Forest Rangers and you can't go wrong with this one. Great trail and we'll be back.

Real nice and clean trails! And camping sites were several campsites that were equipped with water and electricity. Will be back soon!

Mission Tejas has a collection of many interconnecting trails totaling over 10 miles. They are all well marked and maintained. The trails are mostly easy but there are a few trails that have some elevation changes.

I really enjoyed the trails I hiked and hope to someday come back and hike the portions I missed.

This trail is a little confusing to me. I think the Neches Bluff Trail is a small portion of the Four C trail, but cannot find what the official Neches Buff Trail is.

We did hike 2.5 miles down to near the water and back to the park road where the trail continues on.

It was mostly easy with a few moderate sections of elevation changes (We are flat-landers). The recent rain left many places on the trail that were flooded. Easy enough to get around.

I was surprised that the trail never took us to a bluff, just down to the water's edge.

It was an enjoyable hike and would love to continue on where we left off someday.

This was my first backpacking hike, and we carried all our water with us, so progress was slower than average.

Walnut Creek shelter was gone, maybe destroyed in one of the burns? No idea, but it definitely wasn't there.

Wear pants, not shorts, and reapply bug spray fairly often. Check for ticks when you make camp. Some boggy areas near bridge were mosquito nightmares!

Minor hills near the overlook end of the trail.

There were almost no mile markers, so figure out your own way to track your progress. The trail itself was clearly marked.

High humidity after a brief rain shower the first day. Humid and sunny the second day. I don't recommend going in June. The forest would be much prettier in the fall anyway.

Good thing about this trail is you can drive your car up some of the backroads and cache your water ahead, save some weight in your packs. http://www.duprephotography.com/4CTrail/index.htm is a good resource to figure out where to stash it.

This is an awesome short trail and camp ground. Big beautiful timber and some steep hills to climb make this trail awesome. The mission was built in the 1600's.
