good trail around DFW. clean and well maintained trail. some area with direct exposure to the sun...be sure to wear hat, sunscreen and bring ice cold water and prepare to numerous uphill and downhill.

Wow! Great variety of trails with good ups and downs and nice views of the lake. Not all parts are shaded, especially on the southern half, so bring water and a hat. Ample parking too.

This is the perfect place to visit if you want to get in a good hike and breathe in good air. The beauty of the green earth, the trees and the animals is humbling.

Good hiking trails and decently tough too. Great views of the dam, but quite a bit of trash. Broken bottles along the way too so wear good shoes and be careful with a dog.

Lots of people on a Saturday. Kid friendly.

I love this trail!! It’s easy to access, great parking area, lots of activities and beautiful scenery. We usually ride it with our mountain bikes, but have also walked it. Paved almost completely.

This is an underrated trail in my opinion. The first mile isn’t great but after that it gets really nice. We saw deer, quail, and armadillo. It is an easy hike but very scenic trail. My only complaint is it is a little dusty.

love this park and the trails...all well maintained!

- Paved
- Easy to access
- One cool area to get some photos

- There were a couple of homeless people living in tents in the park off some of the paths
- Goes through residential neighborhood
- Only 40% shaded — brought our dog and weren’t impressed

There was so much trash. Very sad

Beautiful views!

Feel like this is more of an easy, than moderate. All paved which isn’t ideal to me but would be good with bikes.

Great place to trail run! Beautiful scenery and wildlife.

First timer on this trail. I traveled SOBO to the end and returned via the road. The first part of this very well marked trail had quite a bit of prairie runs - not my cup of tea - the last half of the trail did include mostly forested areas. The elevation changes offered some challenge, but it’s nothing an average fitness level hiker can’t handle. I’d give it a difficulty level of 3/5. The trail had very light traffic...only saw a woman + her dog, a couple, and a man + his two young boys. Would recommend treating your clothes with your choice of insect repellent because there are stretches of the trail that are very narrow; so, you will be brushing against foliage along the way.

I’ve lived in the area for years but finally tried out this trail. I enjoyed it and will visit again. Not busy and people I ran across were friendly.

Loved it!

I quit coming to this trail after several tries. The bikers make it miserable

Trying to find the old tractors that are here somewhere!

Not one of our favorite trails. No shade and it's crowded. The trail is long but it's not really wide enough. While your walking or running you will have to watch for cyclist coming up from behind you. This trail just isn't wide enough

I really enjoy this park. I'm personally glad there's a no dog policy. There are so many places people can walk dogs.

beautiful trail. Smooth ride.

It's a great hike that is nearby but feels remote when hiking it. I love the elevation changes that happen across the hike.

The trail is well taken care of, and the park is well maintained; although I dont recommend doing this one in the afternoon in the summer... its 6.5 miles from start to finish and then back to your vehicle... bring lots of water if you do it over the summer. tons of prairie like chunks of trail (no tree cover).

so let's all get together and clean it up!

Fabulous for the beginner! the trail bars in difficulty depending on skill and impact. Great place to start.

Easy run
