Great trail with nice views over Lake Texoma, nice weather and great company, can’t ask for anything else!

From Colorado and was looking for a weekend hike. The Eisenhower trail along Lake Texoma was a nice getaway. Nothing too exotic or unique about the trail. Came a day after rains and the trail was quite muddy. Did find a Cove which exposed the prehistoric sea floor and if you look carefully you can find fossil remnants in a lot of the stones that were exposed. The trail is composed of areas of dirt, gravel, uneven rocks and short elevation gains up and down. I would agree that this is a moderate hike. If you bring your dog(s) be conscientious about the path materials as it might make their paws sore.

Love it here! Gives you a piece of tranquility!

Nice little trail. Stopped with the kids to take a break from driving home from our weekend in Dallas. Youngest found a snakeskin. That he was pretty excited about.

entrance was $5 x adult, trail was rocky and pretty easy, clear signs and maps, lovely scenery overall

Great hiking trail. Would rate as moderate in difficulty. Most of the trail has a tree canopy over it. There are points where the trail continues after road crossing. Trail is well-marked and several spots along the trail over spectacular views of Lake Texoma. There are areas with picnic tables if you want to pack a lunch. There are bathrooms that are accessible at a few points on the trail. Hiked in early October and it was a perfect time.

Great trail for a quick hike. Easy to traverse but has some decent inclines/declines that make it enjoyable.

One of the best hikes within a 1 1/2 hours of DFW. Some decent terrain, but nothing too strenuous. Despite the description, it is not a loop. Check your dog for ticks - mine picked one up here in the dead of winter.

I have been here a few times this week. Love the views and the terrain. Down side is they are not loops. But the views make up for it.

On a cooler day or early in the morning this would have been a great hike. The trail is very hilly and rugged with just enough challenge to make it worth the drive. Hiking shoes are more appropriate then runners for this trail. I will be back on a cooler day in the fall.

My husband and I went camping last weekend there. The trails are not hard, just long. No loops, overall the views are beautiful, the hike was great. There were few people on the trails saturday and none on Sunday. I enjoyed the hike:)

Great hiking place! It's probably the hardest hike around here, but I'm just starting and it was doable. Great views with water all around. Thankful for clear signage. Only a couple people on the trail on a Saturday at 9am. It is $5 per person honest system at entrance.

Great trails with water all around. Very well marked, shaded and low traffic.

With a few steep up grades I would still say it's easy. Springs were running, not sure if it was because of recent rain but still very cool to see. There is a Historical Marker on Loy Lake Rd that gives a good description of the "Cave" and the Carvings.

they are expanding the trail substantially. there's a large section now below the dam that loops around to the guard building. quite nice.

I love the view of sailboats on the lake from the hike. I would not classify it as hard. It is well maintain making it easy to follow. Bring your swimsuit and take in the lake too.

Excellent new trail at Waterloo Lake Regional Park. Starts at the RR trestle, switchback up the north side of the dam, enter the forest, past the cave, and finish at the playground. Easy trail. Completed with three kids. Some steep slopes, but mostly flat. Improved trail that varies from 2 feet + in width. Several places to stop along the way including the cave and a nice overlook of Waterloo Lake.

Hiking this trail was a nice way to end 2016. A moderate trail through a beautiful park. Several scenic points and plenty of space to hike. Hiked from point 3 to point 12 and then walked back along the campground road.

Ike is a fun trail with some modest changes in elevation. I'd rate it as moderate but there are some gully crossings that can be hazardous when slick. Good chance of spotting deer early or late. Thick forest keeps you out of the wind most of the time.

We hiked this trail frequently as we lived about a mile from it for 7 years. Love taking the dog for walks at "our lake". Beautiful views. Also great to kayak/canoe on this little lake.

Really nice trail. Mixed terrain and scenic views of the lake map of the trail from the park office states 3.2 miles. Id rate it as easy to moderate. Excellent quick daytime getaway!!!
