a good Sunday hike . We did the 4 mile loop. The trails were well maintained, well marked and not as crowded as the parking lot indicated. I was happy to see bathrooms with running water. This is obviously a local favorite . I hope you donate (boxes provided) to help keep this local jewel in great condition

Decent hike, but I wouldn't consider it "moderate". It was an easy hike (and I'm 6 months pregnant) with nice views, make sure to bring insect repellent.

Great little hike.... several different ways to go.... my dog and me really liked it.... but went on a Tuesday around 1 in the afternoon and there where a lot of kids skipping school and not intentionally hiding but still scared me a bit when I finally saw them.... but this is mainly a biking trail and there where plenty of bikers to look out for... for the most part clean

The trail was okay. Not hard and mostly for bikers

A great little heart rate booster nice incline to start... my dog and I loved it but wish it was longer.... great walk through the woods no scenery close to traffic and the Dart train but you can’t see any of it... was unsure were to to start but it’s all behind the tennis court

This trail was beautiful but there were so many bikers. The paved trail really worked better for bikers than hikers. Really cool to hike straight up through Dallas. Next time I will be riding my bike through this trail.

Pretty good! If you want to hike I would start on the right going against the bikers so you can move because they were going pretty fast, there was some only hiking trails that were very nice not to hard but a good workout.

I would recommend this Trail for all ages it wasn't too hard but there are options to make it harder follow the blue arrow if you want an easier route follow the red arrow if you want a more challenging route we took the blue arrow and our dog was happy to play in the water unfortunately there was a lot of trash but it didn't take away from the beauty of the hike lots and lots of trees and it reminded me of my hometown in California I was quite pleased and we completed the hike in under two and a half hours I would recommend this for families either mountain biking or wanting a good nature walk

Lots of various trails, not clearly marked, easy to get lost so have a map or compass, but the terrain is good.

Nice easy/moderate hike. We went on a Sunday, and it was very busy. Get there early to avoid driving around in circles trying to find a parking spot. We will go again during the week to see if it is slower. Our dog loved the hike, too.

Our fav hiking and dog walking trail in DFW that we've found. Pretty views and plenty of elevation. Does get busy though.

Trail just opened after the bad weather. Some muddy spots encountered here and there but gets better as you go up the hill. Temps being in the low 40s had the trail all to myself. Feels safe enough to hike alone. Well maintained trails.

Completed 2018. Mostly for mountain bikes, but an easy trail for some unpaved walking.

boring, paved, noisy. I also second everyone who has said they've encountered sketchy folks. not a pleasant experience at all.

Very little “off the concrete trails”. The pathway that wraps around the lake is all concrete. The wooded area with dirt trails is behind the spillway. It is a decent area, although it’s pretty small. During the warmer weather, definitely use mosquito repellent, as they are horrible in there. Also, there is a ton of poison ivy, so use caution when going through the overgrown, and narrow parts of the trail. I’ve noticed a lot of spray paint graffiti, so there might be teens hanging out. No big deal, but I always like to be aware of who might be around. Especially, in more hidden areas.
White Rock is definitely one of my favorite outdoor places of Dallas. I grew up in Lake Highlands, so it’s been a place I’ve grown up going to. The city has definitely improved the area. Also, the Dallas police are active there. Either in their patrol cars or bikes.
Unfortunately, like in almost every area I hike in dfw, the creeks and woods are full of trash. It’s incredibly frustrating, because I very much believe in Leave No Trace. And, people who litter and don’t clean up after their dogs, are big A Holes in my opinion.

V crowded. In the middle of the city. Lots of bikers

A good trail to run on for sure! It’s so peaceful and with a beautiful view!

It’s an upgraded side walk in the middle of a city. Some nice bamboo and house architecture. Very crowded.

Overall we had a great hike, however the trail was very crowded, and there was a lot of mud and water from the recent rain, so make sure you wear the right shoes if you plan on coming to this trail!

Trail a day challenge 2019
Great trail on a 35 degree New Year’s Day
3.7 miles on copperhead ridge and crooked tree trails

It’s a good very leisurely trail. It’s very green and lots of calming water sounds. I will do this trail again because it’s so close to my house making is super convenient. However, this is not a high intense trail by any means. Great area for turtle spotting, walks, picnics if you find one of the hidden spots away from the busy traffic on Turtle Creek Street.
