I think this trail is amazing for walking or running. But it’s very busy given it’s right in the center of town, so I would imagine it would be a bit annoying for cyclists given the number of people to dodge. The pathway is paved and it’s quite wide too, so you can walk comfortably side by side with a partner. You can enter from multiple spots so you can pick how long of a walk to take. I like entering near Katy Trail Ice House and taking a left and walking to the end of the trail. It ends on that side downtown/by the American Airlines center. Good place to grab a drink before or after the hike is either Katy Trail Ice House, or if you don’t mind a bit of extra walking after you are off the trail, walk over to Happiest Hour.

Well maintained train, but VERY busy! I was bicycling, and I found our pedestrians to be on one extreme or the other: either they were very courteous, stayed to the right, and made room to share the trail - OR they ignored any vocalization of our intent to pass, spread across the entire trail, made no effort to share, let their dogs wander across the trail, and even downright blocked the path! I VERY MUCH appreciate our courteous pedestrians, and I look forward to more of them on other trails.

Stopped a couple of times to visit w/friends Barb knew from swimming. Stopped at Jean Andresen’s but she was golfing. Humid, cloudy with patches of sun.

Good for rollerblading. There is dog poo in the middle of the trail sometimes (no idea how or why) so keep your eyes sharp. If you ride it back and forth twice you'll hit 14 miles and will burn around 1K calories.

Great Trail but very busy after work hours. Nice to see people being active, biking, running, roller blading.

Not great at all. Overgrown in too many areas. Snakes were certainly lurking close, as the signs warned. I had to turn around several times as the marked trail wasn’t passable.

Great running and walking trail. Many different paths to take and all sorts of types: through woods, around lake, over bridge view

I love this place. It’s beautiful and serene. It isn’t challenging for a run or walk but it’s so beautiful the rest doesn’t matter. Unfortunately it’s been closed for almost two years for “repairs”. There was a tentative reopening date of May 2019 but it never opened back up and there have been no updates since then.

Trail needs to be cleared on the loop and buckeye sections, but otherwise a totally awesome trail tucked in south Dallas

The paved part of this trail is a nice, easy walk. Unfortunately the overlook of the Trinity River has washed out and is blocked off so you can no longer see the river. The dirt paths that take you to the actual Buckeye trees are so overgrown that we lost our way several times and ended up turning back. It is also low lying and gets very muddy.

This is a great little jaunt, just long enough for anyone looking to train for a 5K. The only complaint would be that on the latter half of the trail, the walkway isn't quite wide enough to accommodate heavy traffic of pedestrians and bicyclists. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy today. There is a lower side trail to accommodate cyclists, but it is not paved and may not be appropriate for road cyclists.
