Awesome place, pretty crowdedon weekends.

Easy hike and pretty views. Very quiet and not many people around. Only problem is none of the trails were marked and they all intersected with eachother. Very easy to get lost and walk in circles. Nice and close to downtown Dallas!

Very fun hike, had decent shade for most of the time. Had more wildlife than I had expected.

Great place. It's not very crowed early in the morning. We did 7 miles on the trail, it was great! I like that the trail was very shaded. I didn't see any bathrooms. We did see plenty of water fountains though

Amazing run I was sore for a week

Beautiful cedar trail with birds and vistas.

One of my friends came over and we decided To take a walk through the reserve because my apartment complex is surrounded by it. Needless to say we got lost we spent six hours of walking on the trail and could not find her way out. We called 911 and they send a police helicopter not pick us up but to use The spot light to guide us out. We all met at a fence on the backside of my apartment complex by officers who were very very helpful. I don’t think my friend or myself will be walking in the reserve again ever.

Not really a hiking trail. There are no trail markers of any kind and most of what is shown on the App is an outside line of a sports field. There was a lot of trash as well.

Slightly experienced people would definitely call this an easy-moderate difficulty trail. The cedar brake trail specifically is the longest of a series of small trails in the cedar nature preserve. The loop itself is 1.9 miles with the access trail adding about 0.4 miles to the total hike. The cedar brake loop branches off to a less-than-spectacular lookout area about 3/4 of the way through. The main trails have quite a bit of traffic but it thins out farther into the cedar brake trail.

Great trail. We rented bikes from the trail. Yes, they have rental bikes on the trail for $1
We did 6 miles on the bike and walked 3.5 miles back to the car, to take our time and enjoy the trail.
GREAT PLACE!!!

Bike friendly. If hiking, be sure to go in the opposite direction because trail is narrow & bikers have city manners. Decent trail for inner city hiking. Easy to moderate

A quick uphill to the ridge top then an easy flat walk or run to the end. Trail dead ends at a road and is above a set of train tracks and a golf course. A partial and full view of the Dallas skyline are nice rewards.

Loved the trail! Great hills and rocks with flat open areas too. Most of the wood bridges and cross overs spots are in need of repair. It hasn’t been well maintained but the trees and location are nice.

Nice, easy trail that is quite enjoyable.

This is definitely not a hard trail at all. High side of easy / low side of moderate at best. A good hike especially when combined with adjacent trails.

good trail for our location. definitely will get your heart pumping as there are a couple of decent ascents/ descents.

Park in the gravel parking lot on the west side of Jim Miller by the soccer field, not the paved one at Gateway Park. This way you don’t have to cross Jim Miller. Go towards the giant metal power tower and past it until you think “this can’t be the way” and then you’ll see the trailhead.

Beautiful, tons of butterflies this time of year. It’s a quick trail but worth the time out to see it. Be careful the beginning has a super steep part but after that it’s fine.

This was fun. We cut through about halfway to leave due to daylight hours. I wouldn’t rate it as hard the 11 yo and 7 yo did it easily but fun for sure

Yellow and Orange Trails easy to follow and track to. Northern and eastern sides of Preserve are tangled with cut throughs and bypasses making it difficult to stay on the main trail.

Trails are all very well maintained. Very, very little trash along the trail; looks like it was recently cleaned up.

DORBA sign has the trails marked as closed, so there were no cyclists today, along with absolutely zero people. Surprised more aren’t out there taking advantage of today’s cool weather.

Everything’s green right now, and with the latest rain the creeks are flowing enough to produce some nice sounding waterfalls.

Great road bike route if not too busy

Definitely the best trail in the area! This trail has multiple trails on it that were easy to navigate and included beautiful scenery. Lots of incline that kicked my butt. We went on the weekend and there were a lot of people. The only thing I didn’t like was we almost stepped on a rattlesnake, but that’s nature for you! There were many signs warning to watch for snakes. Other than being traumatized by my encounter with the devils serpent (lol) I will definitely go back! AND IT WAS CLEAN!!! Very little trash laying around.

I'm not sure why cottontail is hard and this is moderate, but they are both great. Lots of steep elevation so wear good supportive shoes.

Tied with Cedar Brake for my favorite trail in Texas so far. Challenging trail with good elevation. If your children cannot clear 2 ft. obstacles it's probably best to skip this one.

Enjoyed the views - a nice, short hike to get away from the city.

A nice respite from the busy city life. Crowded on the weekends.

Oh gosh was I happy for the GPS map! So many cut throughs look like parts of the trail that we ended up back at the parking lot before I decided to use the map.

Over all a nice path for the kids to run down without too much worry.

If you have business in Dallas and are looking for a nice loop trail for a quick run, this trail is ideal. Conveniently located near both major airports, nicely paved, relatively flat. The loop is almost exactly a 5k. It loops around a lovely lake. Granted, it’s in the city and near airports so you will hear street noise and jet noise.

Good hike.. enjoyed it

Short enough to hike on my lunch break. Would be much better if a second trail to make it a loop was added through the eastern portion, but that would take a lot of work. The trailhead was kinda hidden from the nearest parking lot and there was broken glass on the trail. Since this trail is right in the middle of the city that can be expected.

Beautiful, mostly paved trail. If you go all the way to Bob Eden and back it’s about 5 miles.
