Considering how close it is to downtown, it is very secluded and quiet. Trail is in rough shape but it does flood seasonally and is not well traveled. This is not your typical urban trail.

Can be muddy after a good rain in certain spots. Few up hill spots but nothing that’ll blow your legs out. Good to get some steps in

it now looks like a crime scene. the trail is gone. thrones all around.

Hidden in the midst of busy apartment complexes lies this gem. Blue line is the free flow loop with good view of the cheeks, connects with the red and the yellow. the north line is easy to intermediate skills

Loved this trail! Our family of 5 includes 3 teens - we enjoyed it. Nicely shaded. Lots of up and down. It was a fun trail to navigate over lots of tree roots along path! Can’t wait to go again. Felt like we were on an adventure.

Nice having something like this in town

Very nice trail, a little too muddy.

We really enjoyed this hike. It offers some fun terrain and beautiful wildflowers! We’ll be back.

I think this trail is amazing for walking or running. But it’s very busy given it’s right in the center of town, so I would imagine it would be a bit annoying for cyclists given the number of people to dodge. The pathway is paved and it’s quite wide too, so you can walk comfortably side by side with a partner. You can enter from multiple spots so you can pick how long of a walk to take. I like entering near Katy Trail Ice House and taking a left and walking to the end of the trail. It ends on that side downtown/by the American Airlines center. Good place to grab a drink before or after the hike is either Katy Trail Ice House, or if you don’t mind a bit of extra walking after you are off the trail, walk over to Happiest Hour.

it has a really bad feel to it not marked well the entrance looks like a gang spot. looks like a place that drug dealers go

Great trail. I enjoyed the blue trail. We also went on the north trail but turned around because it had many trails crisscrossing it and it was not marked as well as the blue one. The jump area was dirty with empty water bottles everywhere. People should take out their own trash. The better views where at the beginning of the north trail.

this is a nice trail. Actually it's multiple trails that intersect several times and it's hard to tell which trail you're on unless you follow the arrows or the signage. there's just not enough signage there several intersections with multiple trails coming off the intersection and no signage until you get down one of the trails, however I did enjoy the trail because I used my All Trails app to try to stay on the trail. There were a couple of mix ups and I wound up back tracking but getting back on the trail. There's lots of wooded trail and several open areas where you get sunshine on you. It was quite muddy in certain areas but easy to go around those areas. I went in the counterclockwise route to try to avoid any bikers that were out there however I only saw one couple walking their dog and when I came out they were about five cars in the parking lot so it may be heavily used but apparently not so early in the morning. I will be back hopefully you do the loop next time if I can stay on the trail.

Super hot day and no shade. I can see why cyclists would like this trail.

Wow!! This trail has some awesome incline for being in the middle of the city. I didn’t see anybody else on the trail and nobody coming towards it until after I finished. Park in the lot across the street from the playground and walk across the field to the tower. There are some beautiful flowers at the top. You can hear cars and DART the whole time, but it’s still worth it for the good workout and those of us who really enjoy plant spotting.

Well maintained train, but VERY busy! I was bicycling, and I found our pedestrians to be on one extreme or the other: either they were very courteous, stayed to the right, and made room to share the trail - OR they ignored any vocalization of our intent to pass, spread across the entire trail, made no effort to share, let their dogs wander across the trail, and even downright blocked the path! I VERY MUCH appreciate our courteous pedestrians, and I look forward to more of them on other trails.

A few masks hanging in trees. About 25% of hikers wearing masks however everyone respectful and tried to maintain distance. Very well marked, clean trail, and a lot of shade.

Well-maintained and not too crowded! Feels secluded in the middle of the city. All of the trails cross paths and some parts are labeled better than others so you’ll want your phone for a map.

If you're into getting lost in the woods like I am, this is your spot! There are too many trails to keep track of, twisting and turning, meandering in every direction. Don't forget your phone, and go out with a full battery. You will eventually need your phone, not only to take beautiful nature photos, but to pull up the course map in order to find your way back to your car! This course is well maintained with plenty of shade. A must visit!

Good for rollerblading. There is dog poo in the middle of the trail sometimes (no idea how or why) so keep your eyes sharp. If you ride it back and forth twice you'll hit 14 miles and will burn around 1K calories.
