One nice vista and a strange spiraling cedar tree. Nice trail and hike.

Get you some. Hard exercise but very doable. Pretty well shaded but plan ahead if hot. Bring lots water. Did the three miles up and back. Drastic elevation change to firm up those hineys. We were all sore but not like training for the Olympics sore.

Hiking

I personally did not think it was worth the drive. Especially if you’re just there for the day. It’s a beautiful view but I would recommend doing a longer hike. However, it was really easy and accessible. There are some areas that are a little tricky or difficult, watched some older couples struggle throughout.

Decent hike, but I wouldn't consider it "moderate". It was an easy hike (and I'm 6 months pregnant) with nice views, make sure to bring insect repellent.

Very nice trail around the park lake there was one bridge under a little water but able to get over it and a couple other of places you have to work around water but This hike allows you to see many views of the park.

I never knew this little gem existed around the corner from my house. awesome mt bike trail that can be as easy or difficult as you want. It's a moderately easy trail, but there are some steep rocky climbs/drops and some flat pedalling sections between. will definitely be back

This trail was pretty underwhelming and hard to follow at times. Saw some birds, but mostly a ton of trash throughout the entire trail. There was a few muddy patches, but they were easy to get around. A lot of car and industrial noises present. Overall, it was okay but slightly disappointing.

Moderately strenuous but mostly level, smooth trail. Great views of Capital Mountain! Tough, steep climb for the last stretch but absolutely worth it.

Beautiful & Fun! Screw the trail and follow the creekbed... you'll end up climbing your way over boulders the whole way and have a blast! Breathtaking geology! The walls look like they're begging to be free climbed... DON'T! The rocks flake off if you blow on them too hard. Preserve the features here and save the climbing for Hueco Tanks.

1) ICE: Don't be deterred by it... yes, it gets worse/more slippery the higher you go... just step on the rocks or wear traction gear. Trekking poles are a godsend here. Steady goes it! 2) SWITCHBACKS: Be careful cheating them... the terrain is looser/thornier than it appears. Also, they can change direction without warning. 3) SUNRISE: Plan to camp on the mountain and wake up before dawn to complete your hike and reach the summit just in time to watch the sunrise from the highest point in Texas... Enjoy breakfast and coffee at the peak. Summitted 12/22/18

fairly flat walk for the first 2.5 miles, with a pretty serious climb at the very end. it's not a difficult hike but definitely bring enough water and be prepared for the rapid rise at the end. gorgeous views in all directions!

This is a great path to ride a bike or run. I wouldn't call this a hike. It's very well maintained, so even a road bike is very smooth. very family friendly.

Great little trail and my kiddos loved it! It was, however, overgrown in areas and muddy after it had rained 3-4 days ago. My 3 year old and 2 year old still managed the trail well, though. Parking is all paved and kept nicely which was awesome! There are also some picnic tables and a port-a-potty. In a nice area too.

Hiking the trail right now. Pleasantly surprised to see elevated, dry side-trails the horseback riders have made around flooded and muddy areas. This makes the trail easy to follow on foot dispite the conditions. Seeing and hearing lots of birds, but otherwise no other wildlife.

Such an amazing view all throughout the hike. We did this a couple of hours before sunset and it was the perfect weather. Really rocky, some incline, and would recommend wearing boots.

It’s ok. Just concrete. I prefer dirt trails in the woods. There is already too much concrete to walk on.

Very easy, large trail. A little stinky at times because there are sewer vents at the beginning of the trail... but great for an easy ~3 mile run with nice trees. The trail is wide and clear of debris or stumps. Not the most amazing hiking trail, but certainly better than walking or running the same loop around my neighborhood everyday! Would be great for kids and dogs... there is a dog park at the trail head.

Definitely meant for biking, but it was the only trail open on my visit. A beautiful section of the lake visible right at the beginning, so that was really nice. I like that you can add on miles, picking the shirt, medium, or long trail.

Nice outdoor dirt trail. Looks like they are adding on some distance to the dirt trail and marking trees with orange and pink paint.

Nice trail circling a disk golf course. It is in town, so not excluded from road noise, but still has a peaceful feel. The trail is all tree shaded. Mostly soft pine needles over sand. predominately level with very slight elevation changes.

Let me start with the south rim view is awesome. And I recommend this to everyone. I haven’t done too much hiking in some time. I’m a fairly fit guy in his 30’s and I did this loop 7 hours with some 45 minutes of viewing time at the rim. I started on the pinnacles to get the ascent out of the way while I was fresh.
