Really really cool trail (but very easy... not sure how the Moderate designation came to be). takes you down to the opposite side of Boquilla canyon. On the other side of the river was an old Mexican gentleman singing songs which could easily be heard since the river is knly about 40 feet wide right there.

WalkingGreat!

Great little walk to see the window view if you don't get the chance to do the longer window view trail.

HikingGreat!

I adored this hike. We went on a very cloudy day in September, which unfortunately blocked the views when we got up a bit higher, but it was beautiful in a different way, being in the fog. Plus, we were completely saved from the heat and sun, as it was quite chilly that day. I’m a beginner-ish hiker who has actively been prepping for this trip to BB and found this trail to be quite easy. We took it relatively easy on the way up and enjoyed the hike, stopping to take photos along the way. Overall, wonderful experience and can’t wait to try again on a clear day.

Perfect for watching the Sunset! Takes 3ish minutes to get to the view! Loved it! Perfect for young children!

A lot of zig zag, same view for the entire time until you get to the top. Do not recommend.

Quite hot when I went back in Early June, but definitely worth it!

I enjoyed this trail. I did it on a drizzly day in 70 degree weather. It would probably be a different review if it had been sunny, as most of the trail is quite exposed. I enjoyed the views of the mountains, and the plants and insects I saw along the way. I found this trail to be easy, well marked, and with few other hikers.

4 stars just because the trek down the gravel road in no shade at the beginning and end is so awful haha but the hike up to the mountains and then down to the falls is very beautiful, and often there are few if any other hikers. Local tip: Summer is monsoon season in big bend. The falls usually have the most water in late summer and early fall.

This is one of my all time favorite hikes. Excellent effort-reward ratio bc the views at the top are downright amazing (plus, all those steps have to be doing something for the booty, right?!). The climb can get rough if you’re not super fit, especially bc there isn’t a lot of shade. Take lots of water and avoid doing the climb during the heat of the day. I’ve seen bears on this trail more than anywhere else in big bend, so keep an eye out. The top is big and open, great for exploring and picnic snacking before heading back down.

A really beautiful trail! Nothing too difficult - I would say pretty easy. The beginning to middle is relatively easy with not much incline. The end is a bit of a push with lots of stairs and steps but it doesn’t last long at all. There is not a lot of shade so make sure to prepare for the sun and bring lots of water!

Incredible, beautiful trail. Had a chance to hike this one back in October, and the weather was perfect around that time. The views are even better; this is a must-do trail in Big Bend. In terms of difficulty, the switchbacks are pretty typical, but I wouldn’t recommend trying it in midday heat/sun. Bring lots of water and sunscreen, and take some breaks to enjoy the gorgeous views!

Very short trail . Our campsite was close so I was able to get some pictures when the sun was rising. The previous evening we had done the actual trail . This was perfect for morning coffee views .

Initially this trail can be deceiving since the start is mostly a depending. Nestled in between 2 mountains I would not suggest taking this one from 12pm -4pm due to direct exposure to the sun & 0 wind. The only time you will feel wind is at the actual window view. which is nice but very slippery due to the dried up water run off.
