I thought this location was great for kids except for it was a little slippery after the rain there's a nice park at the entrance of the trail not crowded.

An easy walk around the river with views of the capitol building and the river. It can be extended to reach nearly ten miles or shortened to make this far less. A trail for a run as it is mostly flat.

This is a really nice trail! Love how it follows the creek!

One of the easier trails I've ever done and I'm not in shape right now. It's not a walk in the park but I really don't see how this is hard, unless you are running or you are injured. The trail itself is a great experience. We didn't find a great overlook over the city or anything, it was overcast anyway, but the creek is lovely and makes for a number of photo opportunities. It took us 4 hours including lunch and frequent breaks on a slow pace.

It was cute .5 mile loop. I walked around four-five times around to equal 3.0 miles and being dogs watching since I don’t have dogs. This is a good place off leash for dogs to play and swim. I’ll come back again with friends and their dogs. LOL!

Nice, clean, well marked trail. Easy, flat terrain. Moderate traffic.

Just me, my dog, my music and Mother Nature. I came early. Not heavily populated. Not much elevation. Great trail for my dog and I to indulge.

I like this trail. It was my first time here. Half rocky and half flat. I like rocky part to make it challenge and ofc there should be water there but it has not been rain much lately. Would love to go back again when water fill up!

Great workout!

Nice calm trail with a little bit of up/down. Hiked this and the rest of the trails in the park. Totalled about 3 miles or so. Scenery is okay and I enjoyed finding a trail which didn't allow dogs.

Hiked this along with the other trails in the Park. Waterfall was pretty low on water, so not terribly impressive. It's nice to find a trail around here free of dog waste.

Nice little walk along a mild set of trails. Check out the visitor center if it's open

Spent a little over an hour and hiked all the little trails here. nice to find a place where dogs are not allowed and there isn't dog feces littered all along the trail. Water was pretty low in the waterfall.

The trail is alright, not really anything that scenic. This is a designated off-leash dog area, so expect to see lots of dogs off-leash. Saw a lady with 11 dogs, all off-leash. She also had no baggies to pick up after the dogs. Hmm... Lots of people who use this trail are incapable of picking up their dog's crap. There's also lots of people who will bag the crap then leave it sitting by the side of the trail. Stretches of this trail are permeated by the smell of dog feces. Saw a bag of dog crap someone left about 50 feet from the trash can. Also saw a pile of dog crap at the informational sign, within 20 feet of the doggy pickup bag dispenser and the trash can. So, if you like mediocre scenery as well as the smell and sight of dog poop, this is the trail for you!

Couldn't find the entrance as it is posted on the map so as a previous reviewer mentioned we parked at the Highland visitors center and walked to the trailhead. With all the construction towards the end you can't find the trail, just paved streets, it really detracted from the hike.
