This is a great Austin local spot! It’s in the middle of a neighborhood, which makes it VERY popular. The trail is narrow, so we constantly had to stop to let people pass. It had just rained, so it was super slippery on all the stairs. Almost the entire trail is stairs. Incline changes constantly, so it doesn’t matter which end you choose to start. You can also walk through the neighborhood if you want to turn the walk into a loop. Distance came out similar for us. We completed this trail before visitors were required to pay. Parking is available, but cars literally line the streets as early as 8am. I would recommend getting there early if you want a peaceful walk.

Nice trail for biking! Mostly sun yet a lot of shade as well. Did about 10 miles only due to my riding partner having bike issues. Will for sure be back to this trail.

Hike is worth it. Follow the trail to a little oasis at the end. Enjoy

Great trail with a nice refreshing reward at the end

Lots of great swimming spots. Nice pool and rope swing at blue and green intersection.

Too hot, too rocky and uneven for good bike riding. I fell over twice.

PSA: The trail is closed right now unfortunately

Great lightly trafficked trail. My dog had a blast. Not the easiest to keep track of where you are, but a great trail system nonetheless.

trail is nice, good elevation. easy to follow. overall I enjoyed it

Amazing hike and the water dip at the end is an added bonus!!!

Not the trail for you if you are looking for a nice nature hike, however if you enjoy trail running, this is a very nice trail with nice shade! There is currently some construction going on so there are closed off parts that will require you to walk on the sidewalks near busy downtown streets.

Okay trail, wouldn’t recommend unless you want a city trail. If you park at Bailey Neighborhood Park, the first part of the trail is decent however it quickly gets into residential area (not complaining though because it’s literally in the middle of Austin). Some construction and blocked off paths though!

Saw a copperhead cross my path next to the road this morning!

Kid friendly. Pet friendly. Super easy trail, but if I didn’t have a map, we prob would have gotten lost. The signs didn’t help much. Nice trail though!

Paths are wide and clean- can definitely walk your dog here. The path to the pool was a little shorter than I would’ve liked, but other trails around here are shaded and pleasant as well (plus I didn’t get too many bug bites here)

Pretty good. Went on a sunday and it was super busy. Not too difficult but there is a lot of elevation gain for Austin and it is long since it doesn’t loop. Some cool turtles at the end

Perfect hidden trail. Great for dogs that don’t like other dogs but love to hike!

I went on this past Tuesday, there and back from the pond area on Big View Dr. I do not recommend walking the road back down, I've done it before and staying in the shade of the trail is much better. Going back to the car still has some uphills, but it's not as bad as the climb up. Arrived at 7:30am, left at 10:40am - no one taking fee at either entrance. Almost all the stream crossings are dry, still some water at the lower waterfall spots before the elevation gain starts. This is a hard hike, bring plenty of water I drank 2.5L, a snack and hiking poles if you have them. They make the elevation change much easier. Almost the whole trail is shaded, minus the overlook spot. Expect persistent mosquitoes walking along the middle flat section of creek. I almost never get bothered by them and I had at least 5 bites. If you're out of shape, expect your legs to shake afterward and feel it the next day or two! COVID wise: Passed about 40 people on the trails, some had masks which they pulled up when getting close to each other. I stepped off trail to give 6' for folks to pass, a few people stepped off for me as well. Almost everyone was friendly and acknowledged each other. The trail seemed to be less populated as the morning got later.

Well maintained, lovely stroll with sections off the main trail that felt like “real hiking”. Has dog waste stations, garbage cans, and picnic tables throughout the trail. Some people wore masks but all respected social distance. Will definitely come back!

Yo, this is such a cool place. So many trails to go on and it’s very well maintained. We came here twice to do what we didn’t get to do.
