This trail was very well-maintained with a wide path suitable for larger groups with kids or strollers. There are several small side trails that lead down to the Chocolate Bayou and ox-bow lakes. There are some confusing spots as you approach the tent camping area, so we couldn’t find the last third of the trail around the ox-bow lake. It has been dry for many days so there were no mosquitoes. There were a number of large golden orb weaver spiders and their webs along the trails, particularly in tighter areas; something to keep your eye on. In the end, a nice relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon. 3.7 stars.

Quick, yet pretty and peaceful trail. Family friendly park.

Beautiful hike however it is very short. I'm not sure the loop even equates to a mile.

This trail is nice and relatively quick. It winds along with the chocolate bayou and provides several nice stops for scenery. I would suggest you visit in the late fall around October. You should also bring mosquito spray.
