on Fort Loudon Trail Loop

Did the whole loop today. Many parts of the trail were not well maintained.

We missed the ridge point turn and our 3.2 turned into a 5.1

I hiked this trail today. I have hiked this trail, lots of times. it is a well maintained trail. It has some beautiful wild flowers, and wildlife. a great family trail. it is a easy trail, but also has enough uphill, to get a good workout.

I love this loop. It has views, diverse landscape, and dog friendly. Kids loved it. The meadow showcases some wildflowers. BEWARE of an abundance of poison ivy; wear long pants if you are allergic.

Could be a nice trail earning a 4+ star if it was maintained. Very secluded and unused. Blown down trees and difficulties crossing river in several spots. The 4th crossing sent us backtracking. Made it a little over a mile with plenty of trail ahead but knew we had to make all these river crossings going back. A little work would make this an attractive and inspired trail. With several water crossings I wished I had my water shoes and a small towel to continue on.

Absolutely beautiful park. Paved trail, view of the water. Stay for a picnic, kayaking, hammocking. Highly recommend coming for one of their reenactments.

Pretty overgrown, more of a suggested direction than a trail. Strenuous for a fat guy.

We did the Meadow Loop to some of the Ridgetop. Nice, easy trails very close to home for us. Very well marked. Signs and blazes every trail. Great trail for kids! Goes by the lake most of the trail so you have water views. Some spots have a pretty decent incline so you do get a workout too.

We just went a short walk through the Fort for historical purposes! Did not take the trail all the way around

even tho this isn't your traditional hiking trail this area and fort are awesome. i went in october when there was only a few people here and the peace filled the air. hard to think that there is a fort here. don't forget to visit the Tellico Blockhouse. you get the same feeling.

Always a great trail to hike!

This was a good trail for all ages, lots of wildlife and interesting vegetation. This is not stroller friendly and does have points of elevation increase. Overall fun trip, especially combined with the Fort and visitor center.

Great Trail, we loved the fort and all the history. We came away covered in seed ticks though. We hiked in July.

We walked this trail on the first day on a week-long vacation. It was well marked and maintained. We were able to see a couple of deer and a coyote puppy! Did the walk in a counter-clockwise direction and the difficulty was “Easy”. After talking to the park ranger, the trail is “Moderate” in the clockwise direction.

This is not the most scenic trail in the warm season and did get a couple of ticks try to come home with us. The trail is easy to follow and is on the easy side of moderate. There is one part of the Meadow Loop that circles a beautiful bowl and the meadow is a nice change of pace after being more forested. We will come back in the winter to check it out again.

Trail is AMAZING in colder weather. Just went (04/30/19) and left with our dogs covered in ticks as well as some buried in our socks. Would recommend taking precautions. They were mainly large deer ticks, but some very small hard to notice black ticks as well.

Several nice trail loops, great lake and Mountain View’s, woodlands and meadows. There is a Fort and Museum too but have not checked it out yet.
