Flat, paved and quiet with a mix of sun and shade, the main trail is easy running. If I lived near it, the trail would be a great path for a daily jog. Unfortunately most views of the river are shielded by overgrown bamboo and shrubs. Also I prefer a bit more variety in incline when trail running. Otherwise a very peaceful place to run!

There are 9 creek crossings one way, so 18 all together, and they are numbered (e.g., CC 7). The creek is wide enough that, unless water levels are very low, there's no way but through the water. I wasn't sure how that would go, but the creek crossings ended up being a neat feature of this hike. We wore boots or sneakers at first and then switched to chacos once we reached the 1st crossing. It was in the high 50s, so the water was cold enough that we didn't dawdle. Surprisingly, only creek crossings 8 and 9 were slippery at all. The water was higher than normal due to flooding 5 days prior, but it wasn't too deep for wading. The deepest spot we traversed was maybe 2.5 feet. I developed a blister from the chacos and was thankful we were prepared for that. The window cliffs are amazing, and walking on the initial top section is fun and safe if you're very careful. There wasn't really room to picnic up there, so we backtracked and ate by the creek. Roundtrip hike took us about 3 hours. Fun time doing something different!

Short hike but the waterfall is amazing. Plan to swim. Best on a weekday. Weekends are so crowded it's hard to enjoy.

Cool trail. Plan on doing the Cable Trail, Fall Creek Falls, and the swinging bridge at Piney Creek Falls on the same day. All short but amazing.

Well marked trail with blazes and signage. The incline on the way out can be bit strenuous depending on fitness level. I would recommend good footwear with tees as some steep parts of the path can get slick. Overall, beautiful views. Perfect for a day hike.

Beautiful hike, easy to moderate. We completed in around three hours, left at 1:50p returned around 5:00p. Not too many people on the trail in mid November, the views are amazing!

it was ok. nothing special. lots of rock climbing. Don't go when they're calling for any rain because it's like a river coming off that mountain.

It’s a great greenway as long as you avoid the Jamies and Megans.

Not much of a trail, good if you’re looking for an extremely easy short walk.
But the quarry is beautiful

beyond beautiful !!!! well worth the grind...lol

this was amazing sooo beautiful... fall bit nippy up top...

I have hiked this trail several times and always enjoy it. Best time to hike it is summer or fall when it is dry out otherwise the creek crossings can be challenging when the creek is flowing hard.

Beautiful and challenging! Plenty of changes in the terrain to keep it very interesting. It took us about 7 hours. Lots of stop-and-enjoy/rest through the Fiery Gizzard trail portion, then we just blazed through the rest after Ravens Point. We were glad we took the fiery gizzard trail first so our energy was good for the more brutal terrain. Bring three times as much water as you think you’ll need, and don’t plan on being able to use your legs much for the next 24 hours.
