Good trail. Great places to meditate on the river. Couldn’t suggest it enough. Watch out for spider webs.

Well maintained trail. The road was rough, but we made it up in a VW Jetta without issues. All downhill to the falls then all uphill back.

Downhill hike to the falls. The last quarter mile or so is a bit rocky but do able for all. The falls ate breathtaking. Loved it! Will be back!

Love this trail!

The trailhead is actually at West Rattlesnake between mile 22 and 23 on BRP, coming from the south. It's not called Falls Branch trail, and the sign at the trailhead has no name or trail map.As you walk down the trail, you reach a junction, and luckily, someone carved "waterfall" into the sign with an arrow pointing to the left. That is correct. When we went in late April, half the time we were walking on rocks through shallow streams of water or mud that was the trail. It's definitely a moderate trail, given the irregular footing and steps, but it was fun and the waterfall was gorgeous. The trail must be absolutely stunning when all the rhododendrons are in bloom - they are everywhere!

Good hike. Beautiful scenery. Literally 20 parking spaces. So that’s a problem. Terrain is rocky. About a mile in its easy to miss the switchbacks that work you up the mountain side. They had water running down them so they didn’t look like the trail ...but they actually were. Trail follows the river but the elevation goes pretty high at those switchbacks. Roots all over so watch your footing. If your dog likes to climb it’s good, but might not be good for little dogs unless you can lift the up at certain tough parts.

One of my favorite trails. Beautiful river follows trail. Bring a picnic and enjoy.

Nice trail for hiking or biking. Goes around the lake. Gorgeous in the fall. Good fishing and camping too.

Nice hiking trail. Waterfall is beautiful. Not enough parking.

Incredibly peaceful hike! Challenging at times with large rocks, steeper step-ups but overall a moderate hike! Beautiful foliage surrounds the trail with a serene sound of rushing rapids. Many places to take a break and just enjoy the water!

Good hike. A little boring at the beginning but not for long. The falls are very worth it. The trailhead is not marked at all. If it wasn't for this app, Google maps, and my logic, we wouldn't have found it. The road leading up to it is terrible. Don't do it in a car. You will bottom out. The non paved portion is better than the paved portion. You'll get to a T intersection. Go right. Google maps will lead you to believe its left.

Good hike with really nice waterfall! Enjoyed this.

Great hike! Trail is challenging but not too difficult Beautiful sights along trail with river and waterfalls entire way. Rocky, tree branches and muddy in some spots. Passed only a few people. Would definitely do again.

Very scenic trail. We have hiked this trail several times. It’s worth the ride up. the beach and lake are a great bonus on a summer day.

Moderate hike. It starts just past the falls parking area and goes a good way back. Not well marked but just follow the river and you are on the trail.

This trail never disappoints. The waterfall makes up for the uphill hike back to your vehicle. 1.6 miles so it’s not too overwhelming.

The drive in is a bit rough. Once you get to the trail it’s a nice hike in to the falls and a pretty fall at the end.

Awesome trail. Been in NC for 19 days, been on 18 hikes. This has been our favorite so far. All Trails clocked 9.7 miles from start to end, a nothing dirt road. At 4.7 miles in is a very nice cascade with large boulders and a great place to turn back. Continuing to the dirt road is uneventful. Not a hard trail at all, most gorgeous views are the first mile from trail head. Many small creek crossing with no problem, and rhododendron canopies are plenty. Several campsite areas along the entire trail. This one even wore my highly energetic dog out. Great day!

Lots of blowdown on the trail, but still passable. Last half of the trail is very muddy and wet. Steep climb down to and back out from the waterfall. Overall a fun trail.

Well maintained trail! Getting to the trail via the drive is the hardest part. It’s got good elevation and you can stop and rest as needed. The base of the falls has plenty of sitting spots.
