The trail was very confusing and in marked. The maps took me to a long road which was horrible (very big deep potholes) we ended up just parking where we saw cars but had to ask someone where the trail was. It went up about a mile then we lost where the trail was. It is unmarked and hard to figure out if you are unfamiliar. I wouldn’t recommend this if you don’t go on many hikes. I hike very often and it was hard for me. (finding it & staying on the trail) It’s a beautiful view though.

I hiked this trail with my toddler and 9 year old. Do not recommend! It was beautiful and we enjoyed our time there. I’ll definitely be back with the oldest kids again. It’s a pretty steep incline and some places are washed out but probably because it’s been raining the past couple days. It’s a beautiful hike!

Great trail to relax and enjoy. Easy to walk or bike. It was empty when we were there but I could see it being really busy in warmer weather and the fall. That might be a drawback, but overall we really enjoyed it.

Clean, easy and scenic trail. A little too early for the wildflowers but lovely, nonetheless. Will explore again.

First of all, this was a really interesting and challenging hike. I loved it. However, I would only recommend this trail for very experienced hikers due to the difficult conditions. It had rained recently, so parts of the trail had turned into shallow streams. Also, Wild Cat Creek (1 mile in) had no good crossing point, so I had to wade across in thigh-deep water. The trail is also longer than 8.5 miles round trip. I stopped about 4.5 - 5 miles in and turned around since it was getting late in the day. The last couple of miles getting up the mountain are very steep. Given the difficulty of this section, and the overall rough trail conditions, I think this trail should be rated as hard, even though most of it is not terribly strenuous. There were a couple of places where I temporarily lost the trail, as these areas were not clearly marked. In one place, I had to search for about 10 minutes to find the actual trail again. For this reason, I would not recommend inexperienced hikers try this trail, as it is easy to get lost.

Great trail! Went yesterday with my almost four year old (that out-hikes most adults. Lol) There were a couple of times I tethered him to me because of the footing, steepness and water below. Otherwise the trail was in great shape! We only went 6.2 of the 8.9m. You cross the creek at a point and it was tricky not to get your feet wet if your boots aren’t WP. ALL IN ALL a great trip.

Nice Hiking Trail. No GPS Signal or Phone Service. Was difficult to find as I went left at the Fork onto Witt Road. Mistake!!! Had to drive another 1 KM before I figured I was at the wrong place. Google GPS locates this at a wrong spot. Do not use Google Maps to find the Trailhead. Bear right at the 170 sign. Because I was not able to get GPS or Phone Signal I was not able to record the hike. But, the pictures loaded. I also posted the entire Trail on my You Tube Channel. Check it out.

The pictures of this trail and the location on the map are not the correct location or pictures for “starr mountain”. “Starr mountain” is what everyone mistakenly calls chestnut bluff. So if you plan on going to the place in the pictures good luck because this isn’t the place you’re looking for.

SHORT AND VERY EASY TRAIL TO FOLLOW TO A GREAT FALLS. GREAT ADDITION TO FAMILY DAY TRIP. MAYBE A LITTLE HARD IN JULY AND AUGUST SINCE IT ALL UP HILL BACK TO THE PARKING LOT. IF YOU LIKE CASING WATERFALLS THIS WON'T DISAPPOINT. I DROVE AN HOUR TO GET HERE ON A COLD, CRISP 23 DEGREE JANUARY MORNING AND IT WAS WELL WORTH IT.

Easy trail, howbeit a pretty steady incline on the return trip. I rate it mid-level easy, because of its short length (1.4m). Still, worth the drive to see this beauty of a waterfall!

Beautiful waterfalls and great camping areas. A little rocky at times and very narrow paths. Would go again!

This is a very enjoyable trail. It’s only a little more than a mile in with a nice payoff at the end: a 90 ft waterfall, quite beautiful. The last half mile is much steeper than the first part, but it’s still doable for moderate hikers. This was the longest hike yet for my 10-year-old and he felt great!

Fun and quick little trail to a beautiful waterfall. We hiked it after a big storm came through the night prior, so there was a lot of mud and trees down along the trail. The first part of the trail was easy. There’s a lot of slick rock and roots as you head down the final drop to the falls. Pretty easy on the way back up. The climbs are gradual, but the last part is a bit of a scramble.
