The trail wasn’t marked well but it did make for a very authentic hike. If you keep checking the app you should be fine!

Easy Starter trail with satisfying views and an awesome bluehole at the falls. Getting to the falls is difficult however due to the fact that you shimmy up and down roads but other than that very clearly marked trail for the most part... Clean well cleared trails...

Look at the other reviews; trail is open, but parking is limited. Some downed trees along the way. Best to use your trail map because the trail is not well marked at times. AMAZING VIEW AT THE TOP. Also, plan to swim in the waterfall pool towards the bottom on your way out. 5 out of 5!

Mainly shaded trail made for a nice hike. Watch for rocks and roots when on this trail and a few steep drops. Lots of elevation change, but gorgeous view at the end!

Not sure why people say it is closed... i hiked it on 7/6 and plenty of people were swimming at the falls; i saw no signage. I did the full loop, and BEWARE... poison ivy everywhere, no way your legs can avoid it

Great trail. The trail to Mushroom is moderate but down to the creek is Moderate ++. The are next to the creek was great and open. Lots of spots for hammocks. Only saw one person after the mushroom rock.

AllTrails needs to work on their definition of "lightly traveled.." i ran across 30 people in 2.5 hours. beautiful hike. bring a trash bag with you.

Nice, easy start to the suspension bridge at approx. .75 miles and then a few steep sections to Edwards Point but a really great view! 2 hours out and 1.5 back. Bring a towel and plan on putting your feet in the stream on the return if it’s a hot day - refreshing!

Parking at Shackleford ridge county park for overnight (as far as I could tell, very little posting on this). Trail is well kept but forks often so if you want to go to the mushroom lookin rock follow the signs and the all trails map. Easy to moderate. Campsite next to the river, overall very nice

Not closed. Very rocky and muddy in places. Trail wasn’t the best maintained. Lots of fallen trees and hard to see where the trail was. Some parts were on the difficult side of moderate. Views at the end make it worth it but felt a lot longer then marked.

Hiking

Easy hike with a beautiful view. Lots of room to explore (although you cannot cross the creek as you’ll be trespassing on private property). No access beneath the falls so it’s hard to actually see the falls because you’re on top. 3-4 parking spaces so limited parking access. Recommend not taking the W road up signal mountain.

No longer closed - after crossing the bridge at the beginning we were the only ones on the trail. Beautiful views of the river at the top!

Great hike overall! Beautiful view at the top! It was a little overgrown with weeds but still had yellow wildflowers. Had to duck under some fallen top limbs.
