Best Dog Park in the state.

yeah... nothing very scenic

I went after the area got some pretty good rain, so there was a lot of standing water. As a result, tons of buggies. Great trail though, plenty of ups and downs to keep things interesting. Mostly shaded the entire way through.

It rained recently, so some of the slopes were a bit muddy. Recommend trekking poles for post-rain hikes. The trail shown might be an old trail; the path I took is significantly different and lacks obvious trail blazes, but leads to the right areas. Strongly recommend bug spray at this time of year; the mosquitoes were out in force! All in all, good trail, had a lot of fun.

Love love love this trail! Lots of ups and downs. Flowers in bloom! Had a few areas where it smelled bad but not enough to make me not want to return. Trail was well kept and very easy to follow. I felt like I received a pretty reasonable workout on this trail. Yes I will return!

I give it 5 stars for around the Memphis area. Lot of ups and downs. Went during the fall and had some pretty views of deep valleys and the wetlands. Couple of benches set up along the way to sit and rest and enjoy the view. Only down side I see is it is an inner city park and the trains go right beside the park but overall a nice little park.

Very easy trail, great for walking, running, or biking.

Nice, but lots of ticks and mosquitoes (avoid bringing a dog, mines was filled with ticks by the end of the hike).

For my dog's sake I give this a 5 star review. When I lived in Cordova we took our dogs here a LOT and they had so much room to run and play. They also had the little pond they could jump in and play.

I loved it!!! Beautiful Sabbath with God's creation!!! Spent most of my Saturday there.

Great little trail !! One of the more hillier loops in this area . Great for hiking or trail running . Loop is around 3.3 miles long. Can't wait to go back !

This loop is closer to 3.30 than 4. Very runable and a lot of climbing for a short loop. Really enjoyed it. You will forget your in Memphis for a moment.

We love this dog park. Lots of trails and a variety of terrain including woods and tall grass. Plenty of ponds for work or play. Plenty of people and dogs on weekends for socializing. There are fountains for dogs and people at the NE parking area as well as a dog wash/rinse.

I liked the rough terrain, but you can here the traffic which kinda took away from the feeling of isolation.

My absolute favorite place to run and hike in Memphis! One of the best secret spots. The trail is almost always maintained, unless you go right after a storm, and the staff are super friendly. 250ft of elevation gain over 4 miles. They are improving the park now to include a really cool nature center on other old golf course and replant the whole area with native plants and grasses.

We love Shelby Farms Dog Park. It is the best dog park I have ever been to with trails and ponds and lots of dogs! Great for socializing your dogs and people too!

Meh. The trail itself is challenging enough, and it's pretty when you're not right up next to the road, but half the time I was hiking, I kept smelling human waste. Not sure if it was all the stagnant water or the dumping station for the campground. And they're apparently doing construction? I go hiking to get away from human noise. For the novice hiker who enjoys a hike close to civilization, this is an ideal trail.

I got to the visitor center and the park ranger named Tony was very helpful and friendly. He passed out a copy of the trail to me and I was off on my way. I started at the trail head across the street and I was off. The trail was marked well and very enjoyable. Tons of birds and squirrels and many trees have signage on them as well. I will do it again!

This is not an easy trail for young children like my 7 and 9 year old it was hard for the adults it was medium unless your wearing a 40 lb vest like my hiking partner was carrying. It is pet friendly and Chucalissa is close by

A nice trail, well marked with big plastic poles. The poles are different colors, orange and blue, but there is really only one trail.
It's hard to believe you're still in Memphis in this park.
Some up and down.
We saw a bald eagle and heard an owl hooting!
Beautiful autumn day.
Give it a try!

This was a decent trail, but it could be much better maintained. There was a ton of poison ivy growing out into the trail. For those who are into geocaching, there is a site along the trail. For those who have never tried it, it's fun, give it a shot!

Camped here as a way to spend multiple days in Memphis. The park is a lot more pleasant than its surrounding industrial area.

Great place. I take my dog often for off leash hikes. Some decent elevation if you plan your route. Lots of ponds to traverse. Don't need boots for this park. The proper name is Outback Dog Park. My route is right at 2 miles, which takes me and Hobo just under an hour.
