Length: 0.8 mi • Est. 20 m
Hike from the Foothills Parkway to the Look Rock Tower (observation). The trail has a moderate elevation gain from the trailhead to the observation tower. You will pass an air quality monitoring station along the way to the tower. The Look Rock Tower is a concrete observation tower that allows excellent views of the western side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This trail is not tagged as wheelchair or stroller friendly because although the trail surface is paved asphalt and it is typically at least four feet wide, it is steep with an average grade of 7% and a max grade of 15%. Manual wheelchair and stroller users would likely need assistance on the steep sections and even power chairs might have a hard time. Users have reported trail is slippery in the fall due to leaves and winter due to snow and ice. Show more

As of June 05, 2020, users have reported that the trail is closed for maintenance near the dog park. Please consult the park's website before visiting. Beautiful hiking, strolling, biking trail around downtown creek (with a small dam waterfall.). Overall, part of a much larger greenway.Show more
