Great hike through the woods. beware of the tree roots, they can get ya. Plenty of elevation changes to keep it interesting.

trail running

My daughter and I ran 4 miles of this trail on a Tuesday in early April. Very nice, wide, well-marked paved trail. Like so many Tennessee trails, this one’s got some significant elevation changes, especially for flatlanders from the Midwest. Nice, though. Would do it again. Pretty too, in the Spring.

Beautiful trail that follows a stream for the first segment then winds up the mountain with a lit of switchbacks. Definitely a more strenuous hike, but the views on a clear day at the top are worth it.

Great hike, just chose the wrong company, lol. This is a beautiful and well kept park!

This trail is perfect for light to moderate exercising. Our dog loves it. We came here for light training a few times for a one night hiking/camping trip the following week.

Great differing trails, good beginner trail with some nice views for vets.

Some muddy spots from a previous rain, but otherwise it was a great hike.

I hiked this 4-9-18. Some yellow trillium had started booming along with some other flowers, and there were several flowers budding.
I would call it a moderate trail, as there are a lot of rocks and some hilly areas. I wouldn’t recommend hiking it after a rain. There is a good bit of mud and the rocks are slippery.

I'm all for an adventure, and I like trails that are less than perfectly groomed.

But this was crazy. Driving past feral dogs, an illegal trash dump, and numerous meth-heads to get to a trail that might be the trail...maybe? Then we walked about a mile to find ourselves at a dead end.

Pass. This trail should be removed.

took this hike Saturday march 31 fantastic weather and very clear. it's a pretty strenuous hike hike but it was worth the effort and the views at beauty spot were Incredible. l will be doing this one again in the near future

Great hike; views at top are incredible. I would rate this a strenuous hike tho. It is also 11 miles instead of 10 miles listed by All Trails.

Great place for a hike with kids.

If the directions are correct, there isn’t a trailhead to speak of. We went to the northeast terminus, and didn’t find anything but a muddy dirt road, and nowhere to park. We drove to the southwest trailhead, and found room to park for one car, on the side of the road. We started off with our two pups, but fallen trees, narrow pathways, and wide water crossings made the going rough. We didn’t get very far before deciding it wasn’t worth it. Maybe we’re off base, but this doesn’t seem like a good trail to list here—and the pet-friendly description is a stretch.

I like this trail. First time being on it. Love the water scenery.

Lots of good trail options.

Home trail.

Great hike, awesome views, satisfying waterfall! Had a blast with my dog out here

Good hike. Kinda rugged. Dirt paths may not be suitable for young kids.

Easily accessed trail, was a nice 2.4 mile loop with some great hills. Not really any lookouts or Cool scenic spots by an enjoyable hike. Mildly trafficked.

There is no “lakeside loop” there are a ton of trails that weave in and out of each other and one called “lake shore loop.” Decent trails for hiking, mountain biking, and taking quick dips in the water. Dog park near parking area also.

Isolated, overgrown, muddy. Also used as a horse trail so watch out for droppings. Abandoned recreation area with lots of shot up plastic bottles and shell casings. Not recommended unless you are with a group, know good self defense, or have a gun carry permit and armed. I will not return to this trail.

Good hike in big city. Lots of traffic. Fun times. Recommend to all hikers. Good trail run also.

Rocky path in parts. great trail!

not as easy as it describes. some area you will have to jump from one rock to the other. overall it a great trail

Great hike! It’s a real workout

Superb hike! Wonderful views of the lake. The path could use some maintaining and the blazers could be more frequent.

Easy to get to, well maintained and nice variation in the terrain. Twice through makes for a great workout, whether running or hiking. Hiking usually takes about 1hr-1hr15m per loop.

Difficult because of steepness at times but worth it for the views. I would recommend a walking stick, plenty of food, and plenty of water for the long journey. We started at the overlook and hiked 10km to defeated creek camp and 10 km back. It was about 12.5 miles round trip and took us about 6 1/2 hours.
