Cool walk through the woods. Trail is tight and buggy. Can’t see the water through the trees. Still a nice hike.

This is a nice and easy trail for kids and dogs. There are lots of picnic benches and little trails along the way. It was pretty muddy in some spots, but not terrible. The bathrooms are open now. The park was busy, but the trail was quiet.

Really great place to hike. Definitely recommend.

Steady incline, really beautiful at the top. There is a picnic table at the end! Overall, great sights and workout

First of all this trail is NOT EASY! It’s moderate to difficult, more leaning to the difficult side. I think because the Cain Creek trail is flat, that’s why it was rated that way. The mossy ridge trail is not easy. Next time I hike this trail, I will most likely just skip the Cain creek way of getting there, as it’s not very interesting, but had a few creek crossings so your dog may find some fun in that. There is also a crossing of old hickory blvd (an extremely busy Nashville road), so probably best to go straight to the missy ridge trailhead. The mossy ridge loop itself is a beautiful trail, winding up and down steep hills through dense, old forest, filled with large, old trees and some creeks. At one point you cross a small waterfall that is pretty. I really liked this trail because it makes you feel like you aren’t in Nashville, very great wilderness for such close proximity to the city. It is VERY Hill so makes for great exercise as well. I would recommend this trail to anyone. It’s a very nice 2.5-3.5 hour hike.

Pretty! Follow the signposts - those are pretty clear. Last bit of trail is closed (I went counter-clockwise for better footing on an incline since it was raining before) so just follow the signs to the nature center. Otherwise, if going clockwise, follow the detour. Trail is well-maintained and lots of other smaller loops along the trail to explore.

Abandoned trail. Lots of trees down / trash. Bummer because it could be a good trail with some upkeep!

I’ve enjoyed this trail 3 times within the last few weeks. Most recent was 5/14/20. Lower portion is beginning to close in with growth. Only saw one other couple on the trail that last round.

Trail is a consistent incline.

Well maintained and blazed. Perfect for a nice and peaceful short hike.
